and we will need to listen to it every thread in the foreseeable future.
He should just root for another team and save the rest of us from complaining about everything Giants.
Flores, never heard of him until a couple weeks ago, is likely the latest in a long line of BB assistants that will crash a burn as HC. Has there ever been a BB assistant that improved a team to which they were hired?
I'm sure they spend a lot of time analyzing and discussing what to do. In the end they both agreed on the approach. However BB has been there a long time, so all these DC (from Flores and before) have come up in his system and to a large extent are his protégées. So I'm sure there isn't much difference in the general approach both came to the meeting with. I mean how could there be, BB is one of the greatest Def minds ever and Flores is someone who has come up under his tutelage.
section125 - I was suggesting Flores as a possible HC candidate for us back when it was clear we were going to fire McAdoo. If you hadn't heard about him until a couple weeks ago you weren't paying attention.
FMIC - No, by my logic you simply wouldn't hire Shurmur. But hey maybe I'll be wrong on that score. After all we were trending up at the end of the year (three losses in a row to close it out nothwithstanding).
was the same play BB used against Andre Reed of the Bills during SB25. Let the receiver run the crossing route, and have two big defenders waiting on the other side to let him know it's going to hurt. Can't quite take the receiver's head off like you could back then, but it worked just the same. Receiver made a business decision and didn't make the catch.
was likely hatched by BB. Guy has 40+ years experience and he's planned for the SB on Earth an astounding 12 times. And his defensive effort in conference championships games were also extraordinary. See the 1986 game vs the Skins and the 1990 game at 9erland.
But I'm sure Flores contributed. He's very shrewd.
On the topic of Flores being a HC candidate, I think he would have been a great hire. Why? Because he is very well-rounded in all phases on the game - was a scout, a special teams coach, an offensive coach, and then a DC. Personally, I think those attributes are great to have.

Vividly remember that Reed play. That was the end of his play in the SB.
After his defense gave up 600 yards to Nick Foles?
How do you think that would have gone over?
We hear this every year, I’m sure Miami will be looking to hire someone new 33 months from now

He's a good coach that we probably would have done well to interview last year.

That was Patricia's defense.
Last year it was Patricia’s fault and this year Flores gets all the credit?

However, history has shown that hiring coordinators who have won SB's often fails too.

What? Dave Wannstadt and Norv were terrific head coaches!

That's actually consistent isn't it? The inconsistent view would be last year Patricia's fault this year Belichick credit.
