I know Edelman had the MVP stats, and the defense was the real MVP, but when big chunk plays were needed, they went to Gronk. His reception set up the only TD. Although winding down, I still think he's a much more valuable talent (will be harder to replace) than Edelman.
Not sure why you need to compare him to Gronk.
Yeah, you might say he is a dimwit but I think he embraces it and is just happy to be himself. My guess is that he would be this happy and jovial if he had a normal blue collar job.
I also think he is the best TE of all time. His receiving prowess is obvious but of all the great TEs I think he is the best two way TE. He is a terrific blocker - FAR better than Gonzalez, Sharpe or Gates. I never saw Winslow, Newsome or Ditka play but I think he is the best ever.
Not sure about MVP but I do enjoy The Gronk.
And, I think the Pats would seriously consider releasing him in terms of what they pay in return for performance. Guy is hurt a lot.
One of the few Pats I really like..............
I would put a gentleman named Bavaro up there also if not for an injury shortened career...
His catch was arguably the biggest play last night. Just a legendary talent.
