Jerry Izenberg... Lipstick on a Pig

KingBlue : 2/4/2019 7:31 am
I grew up in NJ reading The Star Ledger. Izenberg has always been my favorite sports writer. I didn't know he still wrote... thought he had long retired. Anyway, old timers might enjoy his perspective on the game.

Yeah I know... Great story Bro.

And, I'm trying to be funny. I remember seeing him on TV in the 70s. He's got to be about 90 years old now.

Jerry was the last to write in that style; a delight to read.
I enjoyed his columns as a kid, and I'm no spring chicken. His reporting goes back well before the first SB.

"it was slowest, dullest, most boring 45 minutes this game has ever offered. It was as though 70,000 people were watching a tree form its annual ring."
Great article

"This team is so old school you get the feeling it should be playing in the mud against the Pottsville Maroons or the Canton Bulldogs on a field bracketed by wooden goal posts."

Awesome!
