but the defense held Brady and co. to 13 points. It did its job.
Goff cost his team the game.
Goff was horrible. In the fourth quarter he unravelled. He almost cost them the three points they did get when he stupidly took that sack on third down, pushing the FG to 53 yards. Looked to me like he got frustrated when Cooks dropped that ball and there was no flag. He'd been praying on the sideline all night so on the next play he hastily decided to throw up an ill advised prayer that was intercepted. Gurley was no help either, but Goff lost them the game.
agree. But i don't agree they shut down Edelman because they didn't. Hell I'd even agree with him if he said their gameplan was to let Edelman get his catches as long as they kept him in front of them. Fine. But saying the shut down Edelman makes no sense.
Maybe he should've done a bit more to help eliminate the Pats running game. You know, the one that rushed 32 times for an average of almost 5yds per carry and controlled the clock for practically the whole 1st half.
Edelman isn't a big play threat. He can beat you underneath which they allowed. Hell, they even gave up a couple of big plays too. It didn't amount to much on the scoreboard, but it kept them on the field a bit longer.
He had 10 for 141 and led them to the scoring drives that won them the SUPER BOWL. But yeah he was efffectively eliminated...
On the TD drive that won them the game he had one catch for 13 yards, Gronk and Brady were much bigger on that drive. Gronk had two catches for about 50 yards. On the final field goal drive Edelman had no catches. On the first fg drive he also had only catch but it was a big one for 25 yards and it was on third and one. Not saying Suh is right, just saying when it came down to crunch time, it wasn't Edelman who did the damage on the scoring drives it was Michel and Gronk.
I would add I think you could easily make the argument Â
Michel was the most valuable player. I don't mind that they gave it to Edelman, but Michel was awesome on that last drive to close out the game with a fg, and overall he had 18 carries for 94 yards and a TD with a 5.2 YPC.
Sure did...

Rams defenders can be very proud of the day they had.
A shame it was all for naught.
Also good for leaves.
He was the MVP in the game, nothing but being sour to explain that comment.
