Jeremy Woo suggested a 3 way deal in which the Knicks would send Jordan or Matthews (plus 2 1st round picks) or Kanter, Knox and 1 first round pick to Boston for Irving who would then send Brown, Smart, Morris and "picks" to NO for Anthony Davis.

Even then it's probably not worth it for the Knicks. Do you really want Irving spending the rest of the season here on a bad team and helping win meaningless games? And do you really want to help Boston land Davis?
I would be focused on getting whatever value you can for Matthews and Jordan before the deadline....

is going to be near impossible. Unless a team is willing to gut their depth to come up with the right amount of salaries. Its a shame cause Jordan/mathews should have value.
Matthews to 76ers for Wilson Chandler, Justin Patton, 2nd rounder?
Sounds fair
or Furkan Korkmaz
Rumors are Magic looking to move him and extend Vucevic

Id rather have Zaire Smith
TBH i just put Patton in there to make the $$ line up and only take back an expiring deal...and he isn't even with the Sixers right now..
Chandler makes sense because he hasn't been what they hoped & he is out for 2-3 weeks.

They'd move Bamba in his rookie season?
Bold strategy, Cotton. I would be on that like white on rice. Do we get the rights to his song too?
If Perry gets a 1st round pick for Kanter he deserves exec of the year. I don't think they could get Giles but I would be in on Jackson or Skal. Both on cheap contracts. And maybe grab a 2019 2nd round pick too.

What about something along the lines of Kanter and Matthews to the Kings for Zach Randolph, Ben McLemore and a future first? And/or maybe they throw in one of their "prospects" like Giles, Jackson or Skal.

Salaries arent even close though right??
And we have no leverage... best is one of Kanter/Jordan/Matthews for Randolph (+ McLemore if it's Jordan to balance salaries) and a 2nd maybe...
Objective of any trade, IMO should be:
1) Do not take anything but expiring deals back
2) Pick up a 2nd rounder
3) Do not acquire any players who help you win a game this season
Just casually scrolling the Hawks for example have 9 firsts over the next 5 seasons + 8 2nd's, Celtics have 8 1sts, Sixers have 7, Suns have 6

Haha, I noticed that too. Kenny and Rebecca were pointing that out ad nauseum.
Oooooooooh, 7 first rounders in 5 years! Suddenly this organization isn't the inept shithole that we've all grown accustomed to observing.
The Kings were the first team that came to mind for me as well. They are a game back from the 8th seed and may be interested in improving.
A trade of Matthews for Koufos and Shumpert works salarywise. Koufos isn't getting much PT from them, and Matthews would be an upgrade over Shump. Would just be a matter of figuring out fair compensation on the Knicks side, maybe a 2nd round pick or take a flier on a guy like Frank Mason or Skal.
What a joke. You would have thought it was the Hershel Walker trade....

DSJ should have ZERO impact unless he's very impressive down the stretch. The pursuit of Kyrie may/may not but you don't pass on Morant because you're hopeful you land Kyrie if you really view Morant as the clear #2 best prospect in this draft.

Beyond the Lakers and Knicks, the Pelicans have been made aware of "a handful" of teams that Anthony Davis would be willing to sign long-term with upon a trade, league sources tell ESPN. Boston isn't included on that list.
I mean I kind of disagree with this... makes sense to draft first.
In the draft you get what you get... in free agency you target what you want...
You'd always want to get the one you have less control of out of the way first...

Would be better if it was only 2 teams on the list... but just happy the Knicks are on it.
May 14th is the most important day in Knicks history since The Decision.
I mean it's pretty obvious the #1 overall pick as the centerpiece is more valuable than anything else NO could possibly want. Zion is a huge prospect and a guy you can market.
Then never mind my offer.
So yeah, I can't imagine we get anything more than a second rounder and maybe a young player for him.
Enjoyed listening to him on that podcast - sounds like he's got his finger on the pulse of these draft prospects. He wasn't all that high on Ja Morant, which I found interesting.

New Orleans rejected the Knicks on a Porzingis offer recently, and likely don't have the assets to gain the Pelicans' interest unless they defy the odds on a 12 percent chance in the draft lottery to get the No. 1 overall pick in the June draft.

He likes Morant, but he thinks Garland is the MUCH better PG prospect.
And yeah, Spence is the real deal. I haven't seen him in months because he's always watching film and scouting, but I talk to him regularly.

Anthony Davis representatives have informed the Pelicans that he would sign long-term with the Lakers, Knicks, Bucks and Clippers if he is traded, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA.

Its b/c they know through back-channels or just plain obvious KP wasnt going to re-up with them. Further they might have been more concerned with the injury history than Dal.
They now have alot more tradeable assets in picks and young players to make the deal with NO.

Also, everyone questioning the Knicks as a destination has their head in the sand. The most obvious thing happening there is the worst kept secret in the league. But no one wants to say it/cant say it.
