Jeremy Woo suggested a 3 way deal in which the Knicks would send Jordan or Matthews (plus 2 1st round picks) or Kanter, Knox and 1 first round pick to Boston for Irving who would then send Brown, Smart, Morris and "picks" to NO for Anthony Davis.

Sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @WatchStadium it's four-team list for Davis -- with inclusion of the Clippers and Bucks along with previous teams (Lakers, Knicks). The Knicks are unlikely, however, after moving Kristaps Porzingis to Dallas.

The Lakers have offered a new package to New Orleans that includes multiple young players, multiple draft picks and Pelicans salary cap relief for Anthony Davis, league sources tell ESPN. The offer appears to move closer to the objectives that the Pelicans are pursuing in a deal.
Starting to sound like you're in for a miserable summer.
The part that's driving me nuts though is the notion that if the Knicks don't get the top pick overall they can't put together a trade that's worthwhile to the Pelicans. They can deal 5 first round picks + 3 players on rookie scale contracts that were picked in the lottery the last two seasons plus Robinson & Trier budget friendly deals. The notion that a combination of players / picks from the Knicks cant match Kyle Kuzma and a bag of shit from the Lakers unless one of the Knicks picks land 1st overall just seems idiotic.

New Orleans rejected the Knicks on a Porzingis offer recently, and likely don't have the assets to gain the Pelicans' interest unless they defy the odds on a 12 percent chance in the draft lottery to get the No. 1 overall pick in the June draft.
If tank goes well..chances are 17% better than Woj indicates.. haha...
14%, not 12%
Either way... the lottery is HUGE. Pelicans should obviously wait it out.
Janis is absokutely the reason kp was moved and why kp wanted to be traded..
i told this story before, his rookie year i sat two rows behind knicks bench.. game was about to start and usher asked janis to move off the court he looked at him and then ignored him, went back to talking to who he was talking to and basically said does this guy know who he is talking to.....
KP himself just said plan was always to sit out the rest of the year, so bondy sources saying he was cleared were absolute bullshit

I went and graduated college with Woj, he does not hate the Knicks. He has hated some of the decisions they have made, just like the rest of us.
It's been pretty well documented that Woj will "report" things as favors for teams and agents in exchange for scoops, hence why he always gets them. The Knicks have not given him any of that (although Perry joining may have changed that since they have a relationship) hence why he comes off as a Knick hater. With that being said, this all screams of the Lakers using Woj to gain leverage. The Pelicans best bet is to hold AD til the end of the season. The Lakers package is going nowhere and the Knicks could fall in the top 3 which would be the best asset of any of the assets the Lakers and Knicks have collectively. Further, trading AD to any team harms their draft position if they're giving up this year's first to their detriment.
Shared a thought or 2 on the subject with him, he does not hate the Knicks.

Landed in Indy; update on Lakers-Pelicans talks. Magic Johnson, Dell Demps talked twice today, per source. Lakers willing to give Pelicans cap relief for Anthony Davis by taking Solomon Hill for Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Ingram, Rondo, Lance Stephenson, Beasley, 2 1st round picks.
I saw a tweet from a reporter (can't remember who) who suggested that the Bucks were added to the list so it didn't look like big market bias, knowing that they don't have the ability to pull off a deal anyways.
As a Knicks fan Id rather see Davis stay in the West anyway.
Absolutely. When I first saw that report about the "handful of teams," I wondered if Brooklyn was one of them.
Bingo.
As a Knicks fan Id rather see Davis stay in the West anyway.
Why would the deal get worse from the Lakers? There's really no incentive to do the trade now for NO. An intelligent organization would wait to see what happens with the Knicks and/or Boston, then get the same package if necessary minus the Rondo/Lance trash.
The Laker offer can basically only get worse so by waiting you are really just hoping Boston gives you some ridiculous fucking offer in the summer which seems very unlikely without a guarantee from Davis he will sign long term. Or you are hoping the Knicks land the first pick and land KD or Kyrie or both.
I think the idea that it will definitely be a stronger market in the summer is wrong, its a risk and perhaps more likely that it will be a weaker market. If you have a deal you really like now just pull the trigger and start rebuilding.
If anything this feels like a way for them to try to get more out of the Knicks. I don't see what the Clippers or Bucks could do to beat that either.

LaVar Ball tells ESPN that if Lonzo Ball is traded, he wants his son to go to Phoenix: We want to be in LA. But if hes traded, I dont want Lonzo in New Orleans. Phoenix is the best fit for him. And I am going to speak it into existence.
