Goals:
NYK:
Available: All but Knox, Trier, Robinson unless the target is AD (unlikely).
Ideal scenario: trade any expiring contract for a expiring in return but gain a young asset in return i.e. Furkan Korkmaz or 2nd rounder.
AD trade talks: does NO bite on Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, X amount of 1st rounders (anywhere from 2 to 4 is rumored), plus absorbing Solomon Hill contract or does it wait till Boston can enter the fray?
If so, can they redirect Ball to the Suns?
For what (I see no viable or attractive thing that the Suns can offer)?
Does taking on Hill's contract preclude LAL from being a player in FA this summer (after locking up AD)?
Other trade chatter?

While I agree with you, this seems to be the new NBA. By putting this out there you give pause to NO making a trade increasing the likelihood that he stays in LA like he wants. And if you throw out Pheonix then if Pheonix wants him they will be more likely to trade for him. Pheonix was brought up because his dad thinks it is a great fit for his son where he can play his game and not have much competition for playing time.

but how did Phoenix even get into the conversation? Also, if you're a player in the league, you get traded, you have no say in where you're going. I'm confused as to why this guys Dad has a mic in his face and people are listening to what he has to say. I just want them both to go away.

Yea, I guess so. I'm trying not to do the old "Not MY NBA, GET OFF MY LAWN" routine, but this sort of media interplay into trades really is off-putting. I hope that Silver recognizes that and builds in some sort of safeguard to the next CBA.
I don't want to stifle player movement, and super teams don't bother me, but having all this stuff play out in the media is not a good look.
Throw in the Memphis pick conveying this year at #9 and the Clippers/Kings picks outside the lottery.
How is it different from Archie Manning saying Eli did not want to play for the Chargers?
Theres no chance that happens, not even a little bit.

I guess there's some similarity there, but Ball's father was not a Hall of Fame player. So there is a reason I guess they'd be interviewing him. Ball's father is just some guy.
But I get your point.

That was a one off incident and eli had built up a resume that afforded him the chance to maneuver within that draft. And what has Archie said since then?
No comparison
Definitely a dream scenario. But I dont think they risk that with AD without signing Irving. But if they dont include Tatum, I really dont see this treasure chest of assets that people keep referencing.
NO is nuts with their asks. They can pound sand.

Interesting...
Its actually refreshing to see someone tell Magic Johnson and the Lakers to go cratch and there isnt a damn thing they can do about it.
If the Lakers had drafted Jayson Tatum instead of Ball, Davis would already be a Laker.

The Los Angles Lakers are poised to make a trade...just not that trade. According to a league source, Lakers are close to acquiring Reggie Bullock from the Pistons for Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk.
