Wonderful favorite all-time 5 thread got me thinking. What would you say (not counting 2018 -- too soon to tell but looks promising) would you say the best Giants draft of the past twenty years would be.
In terms of %, I think it has to be 2005, where we sure did well with only 4 picks:
2 Corey Webster
3 Jason Tuck
4 Brandon Jacobs
6 Eric Moore
75% ain't shabby
In terms of #s, I'd go with 2007
1 Aaron Ross
2 Steve Smith
3 Jay Alford (just for that Super Bowl sack!)
4 Zak DeOssie
5 Kevin Boss
6 Adam Koets
7 Michael Johnson
7 Ahmad Bradshaw
Actually not bad in % either

Hernandez
Hill
Carter
Lauletta - still deserves a chance
McIntosh - ditto
Already 3 starters. Carter will probably start next season. We'll see about the other 2.

You may be right -- but three starters on a lousy team aint much of an achievement. Let's see how many start in three years on a steady playoff team.

I'd think Beal goes with 2019 draft, no?
Yes they were low rounds, but Bradshaw at 7 is why 2007 wins out, IMO.

also don't forget about the corner back....beal

I would say no. We forfeited the 2019 3rd rounder but he's still a 2018 (supplemental) draftee.
So with that in mind, you have to say the 2004 draft.
We got one of the greatest QBs ever and a great G in Snee.
Don’t forget Jay Alford’s sack at the end of the game. I feel like people often take that sack for granted but it was top 5 most important play of the game. The defense had been awesome for 3.5 quarters but the entire D-Line was gassed and has just let up a long TD drive. Alford comes in and brings the pressure back and turns 2nd and 10 into 3rd and 20. That forced the pats to have to basically throw back to back Hail Mary passes subsequently ending the game. If Alford doesn’t get that pressure and Brady hangs in and completes a pass for even just a modest gain, the pats could have only had 20-30 yards left to go to get into field goal range with still 2-3 timeouts remaining. That sack put the pats and Brady into desperation mode!

Gibril Wilson is ridiculously underrated. That was a 5th round pick and without his speed back there I’m not sure the Giants contain Moss the way they did in SB 42. That dude could flat out play.

Gibril Wilson was a very good player. There was a time when Skin fans had already put Sean Taylor into Canton. It was fun that the Giants got a guy just as good, but in the 5th round!
