Here is my take and this has nothing to do with his upside. It is just what I see now. He is a SG trying to play PG. He doesn't have the best handle and he is kind of clueless with what it takes to be a PG. Way too many times he is out of control with his dribble and then inexplicably leaves his feet like he is going to shoot but then passes it. I've never seen someone leave their feet so much and then pass it. This doesn't mean he cannot be a PG but he has a lot of work to do in that area.
Smith is hands down so much better
And with Mudiay and Trier and Dotson there wont be enough minutes for Frank
He is on the trade block - but I don't think any team wants him. What was Phil Jackson thinking?
I think Phil Jackson found out that what it feels like to work when he wasnt gifted multiple HOFers on his team. And the realization that hes not very good at what he does without them.
he is still learning how to be scorer and passer and run the offense all at the same time...
He makes some nice passes, probably should of had 10 or more assists tonight, but sometimes he gets into the lane and losses track of where his guys are...
He has great vision and he can get to the rim at will, just has to put it all together
Smith should be in the gym just working on his jumper, he can start shooting the 3 his offensive game will be unstoppable but you saw in the 4th pistons just sagged off of him

The Los Angles Lakers are poised to make a trade...just not that trade. According to a league source, Lakers are close to acquiring Reggie Bullock from the Pistons for Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk.
Listen, you guys are far more tuned into the league these days than I am. But being fair, I still know the game and a player like Steve Franchise in his prime is not who you want on your squad if you are looking to woo a guy like KD or want Trier and Knox to progress as players.

Francis was a 3 time All-Star, was top 10 in the league in Win Shares twice, and led the league in VORP once, all within the first 5 years of his career. He was a very good player, that was never the issue with him. The problem with Steve Francis was that he battled with injuries and fell off a cliff at age 26.
If Dennis Smith ends up as good as prime Steve Francis the Knicks made out like bandits in that trade.
The game changed around guys like Francis and Marbury
... DSJ, can drive at will, but will need to create more to justify playing him with the two max guys, if we get them. We will need someone who can play within the offense.. don't know if he is that guy.

GeofromNJ has put his finger on classic BBI bifurcated thinking. Most of BBI NYK fans are done with Frank (send him to Development League)(me too, he can't shoot, period), but think by including him in a trade, Knicks will get value back, as if Frank had trade value. LOL
Or like 4-5 years away from what should be his prime.
Unfortunately the NBA doesn't work like that. The majority of good/very good players are showing real development/flashes as a rookie, and certainly years 2 or 3 regardless of "only being 21". It's very unusual for a player to suddenly become that 4-5 years into a career. It happens but unlike other sports you can usually "tell" .
Culture only means something positive when it comes to the Nets, apparently. Theyve cornered the market on culture.

DeAndre Jordan to Bucks for Teletovic And Smith and Thon Maker
Matthews to 76ers for Chandler and Muscala and Zhaire Smith
Bamba and Franks salaries even out for next year so cap isnt affected
Zaire Smith and Thon Maker add about 7 million to next years cap

True, that.

Frank and Vonleh and Dallas protected pick for Bamba ( maybe thats too much)

Yes. I saw that. But I think hes worth the risk
Bamba and Robinson 25 minutes a night at the 5
Lots of defense and blocks and rebounds plus playing the pick and roll on both ends
