What a big win on the road vs #10 warriors. Gritty, Gutty, and ponds bringing it home. Tough D on Howard also.
Agreed...but i guess no one else cares...

Hopefully they have righted the ship after a little bit of a rough patch there...
Great win

Now go out and handle providence and butler at home before taking a shot at nova again. These guys are so up and down its frustrating to watch
We got called

For a lot of touch fouls and they let them mug us, but Ponds refused to lose and Simon his had best game of the season. Protect home court
It’s amazing how every fan base sees themselves as victim of....

bad officiating. I think the games are called poorly, although not necessarily slanted in one team or the other’s favor. Unless you’re playing Duke.

Good win for SJU. Amazing that Ponds can play like that, yet be a complete non factor against Duke.
Been wondering

where these threads were.
Marquette was ranked 10? Really?

What a weird season it's been so far.
Marquette has a nice team. Marcus Howard is a scoring machine...

and the Hauser brothers are legit.
Sept Marquette and Creighton in the same season . . .

when was the last time that happened? I saw one writer say yesterday that a win by St John's last night was almost a play in game for the tourney. Be great to see them back in the big dance again.

did a fantastic job defending Howard. He's had his 2 worst games of the season against the Johnnies. Now they just need to beat the teams they should. Can't afford anymore losses like they did to the likes of Georgetown and DePaul.

We Johnnie fans are salty still over the seton hall game. There is no way around that loss was on the refs. Dont need to hear they blew the lead nonsense. They had the lead, they stole the ball for a dunk or run out the clock. That was a win and the idiot ref directly impacted that and all we got was an apology from the big east
Forget that game

Beat SH in the rematch
I agree about the SH finish.

What I was saying about fan bases is not aimed specifically at St.John’s fans. I think it holds true of every team that loses a tough game. Refs always get blamed. I include myself in that criticism. When ‘Nova loses a tough game, I often bitch about the refs.

Here's the thing, sometimes the refs ARE to blame.

Johnnies were called for every ticky tack foul, yet Ponds/Heron/Simon would get pounded at the basket and nothing called. Although I will give them credit at end of game because I was terrified they were going to blow the whistle on Howards since its almost second nature, but thankfully Howard never leaned into I believe it was Heron but could be wrong.
