is Tyree Jackson in the later rounds. Big arm, mobility, huge guy. Do with him how we used Jared Lorenzon back in the day. Backup QB brought in for short yardage QB sneaks. Or even deep throws before the end of a half. Meanwhile, develop him and see if he can turn into something.

you have Lauletta?! He's very mobile and perhaps needs more time to develop. Remember he came from smaller program at Richmond. I think he will show much improvement this year. I don't see him as a starter, however he could develop nicely into a back up role. If we don't get out first round QB this year, I'm all for waiting till next year. Let Eli ride it out with Lauletta as his back up this year. Improve the Oline and see improvement. 9-7 should get us in the playoffs.

is on point. I would have no issue taking a chance on a developmental guy if we thought that Lauletta was the heir to Eli. We don't know that. We don't have that information and there is a good chance that we dip into the well for a high pick at QB in 2020. That would chase either Lauletta or the project off the roster. Not a good way of roster building.

If Lauletta proves this year that he is the guy that they try to replace Eli with, then you can draft another developmental guy next year.

This year - it seems like Haskins or bust and wait for next year.

It seems like Haskins or bust based on what? What the talking heads say? The combine has not even happened yet. I think the coaches know full well what they have with Lauletta and that is NOTHING

of the season.

Until then, all this hand wringing about who to sign or who to draft is a waste of time.

My feeling is that they offer an extension to 2020, reducing his 2019 cap hit but very incentive laden so he can regain his $23 mill if he remains the starter. Take it or get released.

though he's not at Kyler Murray's level. We'll see at the combine, but estimates have him running a 4.65 40. I'm guessing that he'll go on day 2.

get TL out of your head, it isnt going to happen. first off he isnt eligible until 2021 so that means we need to be horrible for the next two years! infact we need to finish DEAD last not next year but the year after. i HIGHLY doubt thats the case. the team improved since last season, no reason not to believe it cant improve this season. there is a better chance we are a fringe playoff team than the worst in football the year lawerance is eligible
