OBJ and Barkley #36 and 27 on PFF top 101 players of 2o18

Amazing 2 great players on Offense and somehow the Giants struggle to score points
I’m of the opinion that if the Giants can get a top young QB they will be 1 of the best Offense in the NFL .. I’m sure QBs will be very interested in playing with these 2 super stars not to mention Engram and Shep as more than capable supporting players
You can dump Eli and that ridiculous cap # and spend that money on other areas of the team, this franchise can set themselves up for sustained success...... makes to much sense

the NFC East this year. Look it up.

After a very week first half of the season, the offense was fine down the stretch. The defense, however, sucked.

So, I don't think it's fair to say that the offense was bad this season. The first half? Yes. But after the bye, they did pretty darn well. Plenty well enough for the team to win some games. Problem is the defense couldn't stop anyone.
It like people don’t watch games
dep026 : 2/6/2019 5:58 pm : link
Once Solder got healthy and Brown came on board... we averaged nearly 28 points per game over the last 8 games. Which included a zero in a downpour.

It’s amazing how people don’t realize how bad Omameh and Flowers were. Once the line stabilized to at least average... our offense scored a lot of points.

But for those who are curious... this post is to take a shot at specific player(s) instead of the entire unit.

They did better after starting 1-7 or whatever it was..

will be far more beneficial that a rookie QB whoever he is. See first half of season compared to the second, when we had an OL that was at least close to competent

As will a couple more major play-makers on D.

I'd be perfectly happy to see us use the #1 on a future QB, but Eli will still be more productive next year.

Sure the Giants scored a lot of points but somehow won 5 games, I bet you that defense and OL would look a lot better with some of the valuable cap dollars you save by ridding yourself of Manning
How soon will Dwayne Haskins be a better NFL QB then Eli Manning ..... Hmmm I’m guessing year 2 ..... latest

Year two is perfectly reasonable. In which case it makes sense to play Eli in year 1. This issue is not will Eli be better? He is what he has been for years. It is will the offense be better? QB play was far down the list of Giants' problems this year, which were the OL and every level of the D.

Eli is not going to get better
CardinalX : 2/7/2019 2:46 am : link
and his replacement likely will not survive without a decent offensive line. sure a mobile qb can run around a bit. extend some plays. get lucky and complete some passes or run for a few yards that Eli wouldnt have gotten. but we don't have that replacement now do we? and we have sunk money into Eli already. Gettleman is making an effort to build an o line. it may be too little too late for Eli. but its not Eli's fault. he's always been a statue of a qb that needs time for routes to develop. its on Reese etc who seriously dropped the ball for several years by not addressing the o line in an appropriate way for the qb running the offense. hell, not only did they have a shitty line.... but there were times when we didn't even have a FB on the roster????

This continues to be a misleading stat.

The Cowboys offense was constipated all year.
The Eagles started Foles, then rushed Wentz back when Foles wasn't playing well enough, who also didn't play great.
The Redskins never got out of the gate.

It wasn't a great year for offense in the division.

The schedule was much harder in the first half than the second, and playing against a run of b/u qb's in the second half helped....Wash and Philly lost their QB's, and Dallas's OL struggled this year....

DG completely misjudged Flowers and Omameh......you could see it in preseason.....yet they trotted those guys out there anyways....when you replace crap with less crap, you will be better, and we didn't do it at the start of the season....

A lot of BBI thinks Bettcher did a good job, with what he had....I don't...
What does teams playing

backup QBs have to do with our offense scoring points?

The Bucs put up 35
The 49ers put up 23
The Bears put up 27

We put up 27 against Luck and the Colts away when they were battling for a playoff spot.
We put up 35 against Dallas when they played their entire defense.

So one game against the Skins, where they were healthy defensively - where we could put up over 50 if we wanted too.
LOL..

Most recently, Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer talked at the NFL owners meetings about his views on the validity of the site’s player grades.

"PFF comes up on player rankings, and I shake my head. I have a hard time with people grading my players who don't know what they're doing and don't know what my players are supposed to be doing"

Against the Bears and Bucs the Giants got gifts from backup QBs. They did this they did that blah blah they won 5 games last season and 3 the year before that.. multiple coaches players one common denominator
The Giants can get similar QB play for a fraction of the cost and then make smart signings all over the roster they’d be in a lot better shape, it’s clear as day to almost everyone

No no he was fine in 2018 really 19 TD passes and a middle of the pack scoring offense that features 2 of the best weapons in the NFL.. how many games did they win, how about the division? When was the last time they won that and Eli’s cap hit next season is what? Pure Insanity

I agree with this.

It's borderline mind-boggling to me that some want to create more holes and needs by letting guys like, Vernon, Jenkins and Collins go. As if DG doesnt have enough holes to fill.

The 49ers scored 23 from their backup QB einstein. How about getting some facts straight before spouting incoherent nonsense.

but in the early going it was clear that the Achilles heel of the offense was the line. It was atrocious. As the line improved the teams ability to score points improved. Also, it would help to have Beckham on the field for 16 games, as well as Engram.

The Giants beat teams who were playing the backup that gave them gift turnovers.. it helped out the Offense immensely, Here is Eli’s stat line for the Bears game, a game the Giants scored 30 points 54%completion rate 170 yards a TD and a INT thoroughly mediocre.. Would the Giants be foolish enough to pay a huge price for that.. Pay for BMW and end up with a kia

Brilliant..let’s compare a 25 year old QB who just had a 30 TD season and led his team to a SB to a 40 year old guy who threw 19 tds and led his team to 5 wins... If anything you’re making my point for me even Goff in year 3 can throw 30 tds in today’s NFL.. Our guy can barely crack 20 on a offense with OBJ and Saquon..

An argument is stupid? Should we go look over Goff’s last 8 games since you always bring up Elis first 8? Or do we pick and choose what we want cause that’s all your brain can occupy? The fact is once the Giants OLine stabilized, the offense wasn’t just good the last half of the year, it was very good. It can be even better with a legitimate center and RT too... no matter who the QB is.
