Watching Mic’d Up on NFLN for Pats v Rams...

bw in dc : 2/6/2019 8:19 pm
Belichick was contemplating which way to kickoff if the roof didn’t close on time...for the “wind factor”...guy is amazing.

In pregame warmups, Donald walks around the field talking to himself like he’s possessed. It’s like he needs a football exorcism.

After Donald threw Brady down like a rag doll after he threw a pass, Parry comes up to him and says he almost threw a flag on the play. And Donald needs to be smarter...

McVay tells BB in the pregame how much he admires the way the Pats morph into new identities each week...

More to come...
Thuney is a terrific G...

Donald constantly talks sh-t and the Pats oline stays stoic and doesn’t respond.
Belichick was great.

Essentially told his defensive coaches the Rams had no answers for them - just avoid any screw-ups getting the calls in and the personnel on the field. I was surprised Brady had to lobby for the FG at the end - figured he'd be the one urging Bill to go for it on fourth down.

Saw that last night on Inside The NFL.

What did you think of Belichick asking McDaniels where McVay was positioned on the other sideline?
Belichick against Green Bay this year

My buddy at NFL Films cut the audio from when Belichick was miked up on SNF against the Packers this year. I don't think it made the air, but during pregame Belichick noted that Rodgers was wearing a hand warmer. He had a guy run back to the locker room and pull the film from the Green Bay game in Chicago, and noted something about Rodgers tipping passes and runs by how he put his hand in the warmer.
Brady in the huddle of the last drive...

“No penalties, stay in bounds, and let’s knock the sh-t out of them...they are worn out.”

He is a savant. I’d bet the guy ordered to do research was Ernie Adams.

And a great team. They consistently out think their opponents, they know they will out execute them.

Dream job for many coaches To build that kind of a culture. Difference with coughlin was he would take the wind and it would blow up in his face

Belichick is a master at designing schemes for every team, and making adjustments on the fly when things aren't working. Holding the Rams to 3 points was brilliant. But as hard as he tries he can't beat the G-Men and we beat them when they had better teams. GEEZ, if it wasn't for the Giants they would have 8 SB's. What a revolting thought.

The expression he's playing chess while everyone else

is playing checkers was basically written for this guy. He seeks out every possible advantage, no matter how subtle or seemingly unnecessary, and pursues it.

Why the fuck he decided to piss away that game last year though is beyond me.

Yeah, he’s made a bunch of boneheaded calls and headscratchers through the years. The one I still do not understand is when on 4th and 10 from the Giants 30 in SB XLII, he opted to have Brady throw 30 yards into the endzone instead of having Gostkowski kick the 47 yarder INDOORS (roof closed)..Really, really, stupid, imv..

Of course his record and championships speak for themselves
You saw all this from BB,
Doomster : 2/7/2019 9:01 am : link
on that special about him, where he is the coach of the Browns, and the details he talks about with his coaches....his system was in place and if the Browns never moved to Baltimore, the fans in NE would have never sniffed him....

It really was an incredible loss. His team didn't have a turnover (the Eagles had one), never punted, his QB threw for 500+, they ran for 100+, and they were 50% on third down conversion.

The Eagles, however, were 10 for 16 on third down, 63%. Which is lights out.

I have to think somewhere along the line Butler couldn't have done worse than the way the secondary was playing...

Brady did have the turnover at the end though.

Very good catch. I stand corrected.
