Does AD get dealt? Do the Wiz continue their fire-sale & deal Beal? Is there a surprise candidate to be traded?
Should be an interesting morning/early afternoon.
Hypothetical- but if they were allowed to trade for Davis right now, do you really believe they would include Tatum? It would be a package of Brown, Smart and a bunch of picks with only one of them looking promising but not conveying until 2021.
I think the Pelicans will botch this situation.
So much for all the talk about Charlotte.
Looks like no second rounders coming our way.

I think they would if they knew Kyrie was not going to leave this off-season.
Davis is a top 5 player right now and he's only 25 (for another month).
Davis and Kyrie make them competitive with anyone IMO.
If Kyrie is going to leave then I don't think it makes sense to include Tatum in a trade for Davis.
Maybe Davis staying put until the off-season actually helps Boston in this regard, they'll know Kyrie's decision first.

His teammates don't like him so he had to open up a roster spot for them to sign Carmelo.... need to have someone to sit next to on the bench now that they are all avoiding him.

The Magic are sending Jonathon Simmons, a Thunder first and Cavs second to the Sixers for Markelle Fultz, per source.
What a bizarre and sad situation.

Vonleh is a guy I’d be fine with coming in off the bench on a playoff worthy Knicks team. Trier is in the same category.

Is LeBron crying he’s never getting AD now?
what the hell are the lakers doing trading zubac?
The Raptors are sending Greg Monroe and a second-round pick to Brooklyn
make no moves.
Zubac real nice get for LAC
Which was the Pels not trading him for Lakers junk.
Now we wait for the ping pong balls and if they come up 1-2, could there possibly be a better position to be in than the Knicks would be at that point?
2 max slots, a top 2 pick, AD dangling out there via trade, a huge FA class, and a strong draft class.
Wow.
it sounds great but you wouldn't have both the top 2 pick AND AD, that pick would head to NO.
they moved Fultz for peanuts.
Don’t get the Zubac trade either.
They can go through the draft, they can package for AD, they can go big in FA.
Any and all options at that point.

No, he could care less and said as much. He went there for his family, not to win another ring
If their pick is in the top 2 (please win the lottery Knicks)

Not sure why. It could be all about the Celtics. Who knows what Danny has whispered.

What value does Fultz realistically have at this point? They couldn’t get much for someone who doesn’t look like a starting PG
The Kings are waiving Ben McLemore, per source. The sixth-year guard who was drafted 7th overall by the Kings in 2013, then had a stop in Memphis in between, will be on to his next stop.

I think 3 or if it is 2 I personally would have Ja Morant higher than Barrett right now. I am no expert though.
everyone is saying Zion or bust for Davis. But you're telling me the Pels are turning down Barrett/Morant, Knox, Frank, Smith, and 4 firsts for Davis?
Fuck outta here.

Theres a scenario where Boston flames out early in the playoffs. Kyrie leaves, Morris leaves, Horford opts out, Rozier leaves, and those "treasure chest of picks" amounts to 2 picks in the bottom 3rd of the draft.
They still trading Tatum for Anthony Davis in this scenario? I would really love this doomsday scenario for Boston. |
Why would Rozier leave Boston if Kyrie is gone .. he becomes the starter on a team and in a system he knows he can thrive in? Also why would Morris leave a place where is getting good minutes and career stats. We have Money to resign both ESPECIALLY with Irving leaving since that is your scenario. Why wold Hortford opt out of his last yr in his max contract ... he is not getting another max deal at his age.
why does any free agent leave their incumbent team? If another team is offering more money, he's likely gone. He's coming off his rookie contract - this might be his only chance to get a big deal.
Ainge isn't known for giving out dumb contracts....but plenty of other GMs might for a guy like Rozier.

LeBron picking KD, Kyrie and AD
Sycophant
Now they have to hope Boston balks on giving up Tatum, or hope Kyrie heads to LA. I know LeBron just arrived but his window is pretty small. No chance they beat Golden State this year. LeBron turns 35 next year and while he is a freak of nature his days as the best player in the league are numbered if not already over. He will still be effective for a few years but he might only have a 1-2 year Championship window. He’s been a pro for 16 years now and there are a lot of miles on his body.
If they don’t land a top, top player this summer it’s hard to envision them winning with LeBron.
destination people think it is. I agree with the premise that guys don't want to play with LBJ. If Kyrie reups with Boston & they get AD, I don't see AD leaving if the Celts go deep. AD, from all I've read, just wants to win. He's going to leave a 60 plus win Cs team next summer for a LAL team with a soon to be 36 year old LBJ? I don't see that.
Hopefully this is all moot as KD & Kyrie come to MSG.

i dont think the plan is kd and kyrie...
I think it is KD and AD and then with money left over fill out the roster...
i also think deandre is going to be part of that...
for KD & AD. Do I sign in blood?
That’s the dream. More than anything else.
KD and AD.
I’d rather roll with DSJ or sign Kemba over Kyrie if it meant we can get Durant and Davis here.

just putting all the pieces together...
Knicks were rumored to be ready to go after AD and offered KP...
rumors of shopping to open money for months and lee's mouthpiece said they were close to a deal to clear his money with orlando...
I dont think KP was ever in their plans and they wanted to open up 2 max slots to keep flexibility so they can pivot if they do not get AD...
If it’s the only way to get Durant they have to do it but I hope for some other outcome. Durant and Kawhi or Davis would be amazing.
I would also be fine with Zion and a bunch of cap flexibility tbh.
'All our guys like each other.'
LOL.
God. We need to get the number one pick. We are so due for some good lottery luck.

Number One pick changes everything.
for AD.
I don't want a paper-thin big two team that's going to struggle to fill roster slots.
