and the knicks should not be involved. If you want to give up assets for a guy who is top 3-5 in the league then fine (AD), but no reason to do it for a guy like Beal. I like Beal, but just try to sign Kyrie in the offseason and keep your assets. Lets just keep assets for once, unless we are getting a guy like AD.
I think they are definitely running a risk in waiting until the offseason. Lets look at the Boston godfather offer.
- The Clippers will now most likely keep their pick.
- Memphis is keeping their pick and it looks like is blowing things up. That means that pick isnt being conveyed until 2021.
- Sacramento got better and that pick will most likely be in the 17-20 range.
So you unless they are including Tatum, you are looking at a package of Jaylen Brown/ Smart or Hayward for cap purposes/ Sac pick estimated 17th overall/ Bostons own pick in the mid to late 20s. Along with the Clippers pick that could turn into 2nd round picks or a later 1st and the Memphis pick in 2021.
If Im New Orleans I need a guarantee that Tatum will be included otherwise Im not waiting. I take the Lakers for all they have and hope Lebron ages quickly and AD gets hurt one year down the line for those picks. And I do think Ingram and the other guys are being underrated....
who think that Kuzma, Ingram, and Ball is some great package.
Ball sucks
Kuzma is a chucker who does nothing else
Ingram has potential and I like him, but he is nowhere near a center piece. He's like the 2nd or third piece to a superstar.
I hope NO keeps AD and lets him rot on the bench. Let him sit this year and next year and get two high draft choices. Let him walk for nothing because any trade they get will ensure them wins that will ruin their draft position for players who arent going to make them contenders anyways.

Probably but AD forced it upon himself saying he doesnt want to play for the Pelicans anymore and wants to be traded/leave via of Free Agency. IMO, if a player doesnt want to play for the team - why should they play them? He made it publicly known and embarrassed the team. Fuck him. Sit you ass on the bench for the next 18 months. Tell him not even to come to the arena for practices. He will still get paid, just go away.
Players in the NBA have way too much power. The owners are eventually going to take a stand. Its too bad the gutless commissioner blows Lebron and the boys so he lets them do whatever he wants.
Is going to stay put and Lebron will not be happy about it
I dont understand why. He has to understand they dont have good assets. And he knew this when he made his choice. I really dont think this is some some of shocker to him to be honest. If Lebron really wanted another super team he would have planned better.

They should sit him. Or play him off the bench. Show the players that teams still hold some power. Will it be bad for ratings and the NBA? Probably but maybe Silver will finally do something about players demanding trades if a team is benching a top 5 talent in the league.

So let me guess this is cool cause they had to do what was best for the franchise right??? Traded this man while he was literally playing in the game and had ZERO idea. Im not knocking who traded him because its a business and you have to do what you feel whats best but I just want this narrative to start to get REAL/CHANGE and not when a player wants to be traded or leaves a Franchise that hes a selfish/ungrateful player but when they trade you, release , waive, cut etc etc its best for them! Im ok with both honestly, truly am. Just call a ♠️ a ♠️!!
I think they are taking on a risk here. I would be buying low on Ingram. Simply, I view Ingram as a better prospect than Jaylen Brown. And I would use the leverage I have over the Lakers right now to get 3 or 4 unprotected 1sts from them. That package is better than what Boston can offer if they dont include Tatum.
If the Knicks win the lottery, are they really trading that for AD if they know they have 2 max FAs coming? On top of Knox picks etc? I could see them passing.
And what other team that wins the lottery is trading the top pick for Davis? I just dont see it. I could actually see a scenario where the Lakers move on to other options, the Knicks go a different route and Boston loses Kyrie and is scared of making a big offer because Davis will walk in a year. Where are these other monster trade packages coming from?
Lakers are desperate now. Take all their young guys, spin Lonzo for another pick or young player, get the Lakers to cough up 3 or 4 1st unprotected. Its not a perfect packer, but their is a scenario where it gets worse for them in the offseason.

They tried to gauge the Lakers for 3 or 4 picks but the Lakers have held firm on 2. I agree on Ingram vs Brown but for the Pelicans its likely its Tatum vs Ingram which isnt even close in terms of upside.
LeBron, who would get rid of any teammate to help his own cause is mad the Mavs traded Barnes before the game ended? KD, who signs 1 year deals is mad about FA speculation? I like both guys but when did playing in the NBA become this terrible burden for the player?
Not a bad bench player. Philly needs all the depth it can get. Just wasn't the best fit on the Rockets, especially with a better wing defender in Shump being added. Hopefully Wes Matthews is added as well.

Throw in one of the Dallass picks and u may not need to dream
i think we would be lucky to get a second for anyone on the roster. Hopefully the fact that most teams are sellers will help us if we ever are good again, lol.
Theres a scenario where Boston flames out early in the playoffs. Kyrie leaves, Morris leaves, Horford opts out, Rozier leaves, and those "treasure chest of picks" amounts to 2 picks in the bottom 3rd of the draft.
They still trading Tatum for Anthony Davis in this scenario? I would really love this doomsday scenario for Boston.
[Wojnarowski] Toronto is planning to send Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, CJ Milles and a 2024 second-round pick to the the Grizzlies for Gasol, league sources tell ESPN.
I know he's not the same player, but this is a great trade for Toronto. Getting Gasol without giving up a 1st round pick? Masai really is impressive...
Ignore knicks do not move Vonleh, Mudiay and Mario. They are all very tradebake contracts and can be good players off the bench for contenders. The reality is we arent going to resign any of them. I have to think you can get a 2nd rounder for any of them or a package of Mudiay and Vonleh can get a late first.
Wherever he goes (hopefully NYK) becomes an immediate contender, and Golden State is weakened to the point you'll have a group of 8-10 teams with a legit shot at the title.
the rest of the East is getting stronger; hopefully Raptors and Bucks stay where they are and Philly passes Boston into the top 3 so Kyrie grows further upset with them for not even attempting to build a team around him.
Hypothetical- but if they were allowed to trade for Davis right now, do you really believe they would include Tatum? It would be a package of Brown, Smart and a bunch of picks with only one of them looking promising but not conveying until 2021.

They traded their best center and probably best young player for Mike Muscala???

His teammates don't like him so he had to open up a roster spot for them to sign Carmelo.... need to have someone to sit next to on the bench now that they are all avoiding him.
Which was the Pels not trading him for Lakers junk.

2 max slots, a top 2 pick, AD dangling out there via trade, a huge FA class, and a strong draft class.
The Kings are waiving Ben McLemore, per source. The sixth-year guard who was drafted 7th overall by the Kings in 2013, then had a stop in Memphis in between, will be on to his next stop.
RE: It also means the pelicans think Zion and RJ are the two potential

Why would Rozier leave Boston if Kyrie is gone .. he becomes the starter on a team and in a system he knows he can thrive in? Also why would Morris leave a place where is getting good minutes and career stats. We have Money to resign both ESPECIALLY with Irving leaving since that is your scenario. Why wold Hortford opt out of his last yr in his max contract ... he is not getting another max deal at his age.
why does any free agent leave their incumbent team? If another team is offering more money, he's likely gone. He's coming off his rookie contract - this might be his only chance to get a big deal.
Ainge isn't known for giving out dumb contracts....but plenty of other GMs might for a guy like Rozier.
Now they have to hope Boston balks on giving up Tatum, or hope Kyrie heads to LA. I know LeBron just arrived but his window is pretty small. No chance they beat Golden State this year. LeBron turns 35 next year and while he is a freak of nature his days as the best player in the league are numbered if not already over. He will still be effective for a few years but he might only have a 1-2 year Championship window. Hes been a pro for 16 years now and there are a lot of miles on his body.
If they dont land a top, top player this summer its hard to envision them winning with LeBron.
destination people think it is. I agree with the premise that guys don't want to play with LBJ. If Kyrie reups with Boston & they get AD, I don't see AD leaving if the Celts go deep. AD, from all I've read, just wants to win. He's going to leave a 60 plus win Cs team next summer for a LAL team with a soon to be 36 year old LBJ? I don't see that.
Hopefully this is all moot as KD & Kyrie come to MSG.

Im sure we see a few small deals, but i dont think any of the big guys (gasol, conley, AD, etc...) get dealt.
This could theoretically pave a path towards something like this:
PG: Dennis Smith, Cory Joseph
SG: Bradley Beal, Allonzo Trier
SF: RJ Barrett (conservatively assuming #3), Dameun Dotson
PF: Kevin Durant, Noah Vonleh
C: Mitchell Robinson, Luke Kornet
The fans chanting "LeBron will trade you!" when the Lakers were going to the free throw line the other night in Indiana was hysterical.

Knicks were rumored to be ready to go after AD and offered KP...
rumors of shopping to open money for months and lee's mouthpiece said they were close to a deal to clear his money with orlando...
I dont think KP was ever in their plans and they wanted to open up 2 max slots to keep flexibility so they can pivot if they do not get AD...
I would also be fine with Zion and a bunch of cap flexibility tbh.
LOL.

Agree. KD and AD...I'm getting woozy. That's immediately a 60 plus win team
LOL.
... as the Celts crush the Lakers (at least so far).

haha - spoke too soon. Incredible ending.
Number One pick changes everything.
I don't want a paper-thin big two team that's going to struggle to fill roster slots.
