NFT: Jeff Bezos blackmailed by National Enquirer

CMicks3110 : 2/7/2019 8:47 pm
not sure if this was posted, but pretty explosive story.

Note from National Enquirer attorney is surreal:
Quote:

However, in the interests of expediating this situation, and with The Washington Post poised to publish unsubstantiated rumors of The National Enquirer’s initial report, I wanted to describe to you the photos obtained during our newsgathering.

In addition to the “below the belt selfie& #8202;—& #8202;otherwise colloquially known as a ‘d*ck pick’”& #8202;—& #8202;The Enquirer obtained a further nine images. These include:

· Mr. Bezos face selfie at what appears to be a business meeting.

· Ms. Sanchez response& #8202;—& #8202;a photograph of her smoking a cigar in what appears to be a simulated oral sex scene.

· A shirtless Mr. Bezos holding his phone in his left hand& #8202;—& #8202;while wearing his wedding ring. He’s wearing either tight black cargo pants or shorts& #8202;—& #8202;and his semi-erect manhood is penetrating the zipper of said garment.

· A full-length body selfie of Mr. Bezos wearing just a pair of tight black boxer-briefs or trunks, with his phone in his left hand& #8202;—& #8202;while wearing his wedding ring.

· A selfie of Mr. Bezos fully clothed.

· A full-length scantily-clad body shot with short trunks.

· A naked selfie in a bathroom& #8202;—& #8202;while wearing his wedding ring. Mr. Bezos is wearing nothing but a white towel& #8202;—& #8202;and the top of his pubic region can be seen.

· Ms. Sanchez wearing a plunging red neckline dress revealing her cleavage and a glimpse of her nether region.

· Ms. Sanchez wearing a two-piece red bikini with gold detail dress revealing her cleavage.

It would give no editor pleasure to send this email. I hope common sense can prevail& #8202;—& #8202;and quickly.

Dylan.

blackmailers are douchy slime but hard to have sympathy for a dude who cheated on his wife and took dick picks and sent them to his mistress and is the founder of the biggest tech company on the planet and one of the wealthiest people in the world.

So, I don't care if Bezos goes after him with the full weight of 150 billion dollars, or whatever it is. Great if the guy has it coming to him.

I don't feel one bit of sympathy for Bezos and they're all scum bags in this story. If one is less a scum bag than the other it doesn't mean much.

That’s pretty much exactly the point Bezos made. I don’t know whether he meant to imply that the Enquirer itself is an extortion racket, or if he was making a broader point about blackmailers (and their vulnerable victims) in general.

As for AMI staff losing their jobs, most of them have very little involvement in the seedy side of the business. The world might be better off without the Enquirer, but we can still hope most of the pain is felt by those who really deserve it. Besides, as long as there’s an appetite for dirty laundry, somebody will show up to supply it.

where is the blackmail? Everyone knew they have the photos. It seems as though Bezos and his people launched this "investigation" and are making claims that AMI obtained these photos to publish them because of Bezos' political activities- and Bezos continues to play that card in this published piece. It's not "blackmail" for AMI to say you can have the photos back if you knock off the stuff about political activities.

Bezos seems to have lost it. He fucked around on his wife, acts like a freaking 17 year old sending dick pix, launches some "investigation" against a news outlet (I don't thing the Post would be happy if anyone launched an "investigation" of it), threatens a news outlet (ditto), and then sends this weirdness out. What is he doing?

I mean...really? What's your working definition of blackmail?

That's kind of like saying, "It's not murder. Sure he stuck a knife in his friend's chest and now the poor guy is dead, but that's not really 'murder'"

It's amazing what some people's capacity for mental gymnastics will allow them to believe.

"with The Washington Post poised to publish unsubstantiated rumors of The National Enquirer’s initial report" - from the OP

they are already being sued for libel from last month. A newspaper shouldn't be publishing "unsubstantiated rumors" and I don't know if they were in this case, but they have a history of it. Faith in the legacy media is very low across the board.
I don't support what the National Enquirer did either.

Huh? They told him we are publishing these pictures unless you make false statements vindicating us. That is the definition of blackmail/extortion. And lawyers putting it in writing is the height of stupidity.
