this is great for the Browns

except if Hunt has another incident with a woman then it's really going to hit the fan.
If the shit hits the fan, they cut him and take the high ground about taking swift action.
They have been the taint of the NFL for so long that they don't give a shit about any PR backlash. It's low risk and high reward. If he fucks up, they cut him and pay lip service on how they gave him a chance. If he doesn't? They get a pro bowl talent to pair with Nick Chubb. Possibly have trade bait at some point as well.
Agree with the poster earlier who said we need to do everything we can to protect women from being abused in society, but when a woman involves herself in a violent situation as an aggressor she has to expect there may be consequences to her actions. Women are human beings with free will just as much as men are and if they involve themselves in a violent situation and act violently they can't just expect zero repercussions. This woman was acting like a drunken imbecile, was disrespecting and attacking his girlfriend, and Hunt did nothing that would have caused any sort of visible or lasting physical injury. Not saying he "did the right thing" by any means but to take this one-time incident and ban him from football forever and label him a "woman-abuser" would be shortsighted IMO.
Not gonna lie regardless of if someone is a woman or a man if I feel they are putting my girlfriend in physical danger I can't say I would necessarily be a peaceful diplomat. If they're just attacking that's one thing but if a woman I love (girlfriend, sister, mother, whatever) is in danger I would probably act differently.
That video was an enraged man trying to attack or retaliate against a much smaller woman while his friends tried mightily to restrain him. Come on, the excuses in the discussion to justify his actions are fucking gross.
The NFL is a joke, they don’t give a shit about domestic violence or protecting women when there is money to be made. He wouldn’t be deserving or entitled to a ‘second chance’ if he were a 30 year old running back instead of a 22 year old.
is all about acquisition of talent. Be it NFL, MLB, NBA, or NHL, you want the best of the best on your team. They figure he can help this team AND won't tear apart the locker room. The name of the game is racking up many more W's than L's. Hunt is talented and that is why he has, for the moment, been given another uniform.
He's paid for an extremely ugly mistake by being fired and taking a lower level role with another company. That said, if there's another incident, he should have to find another career outside of the public eye.
Good move for both sides. It's actually a good spot, the Browns have a decent OL with a great interior. He can show out as the 1b in a committee and earn himself a nice, heavily incentivized, payday next year.

How about Ray Rice, did he deserve another chance?

Never arrested or charged with a crime despite the police seeing the tape and conducting interviews. He absolutely deserves to play again he has already paid his price with the suspension and the lost of income and endorsements over this incident.
RE: RE: RE: Can't kneel in silent protest against violence. Â
but sure as shit, you can kick a woman and get another chance. Lame.
Pretty sure you can kneel. Players have been doing it and playing for a long time now. In fact, CK has been offered deals. But surely you can draw relevant distinctions to on-field behavior in company uniform on national television every week to a one-time screw up (in which the perpetrator was released from employment and now has to meet a bunch of criteria to get another chance.
"screw up" lol JFC The guy kicked a woman. You NEVER do that. Period. Who the hell brought you up. She's as much to blame as Hunt. Holy shit. GTFO.
^^ fucking white knight here. I loathe violence against women. But anyone that says they wouldn't hit a woman is either a fool or a liar. You got a girl holding a knife on you? I'd kick her right in vageebs asap and with authority.
Some woman beating up my wife? I'd rag doll the hell out of her by her hair.
I'd never hit a lady, though. But a lady knows how to conduct herself.
I don't know why anyone would have a problem with what I said. Not a fan of violence against women. A man hitting a woman is no man without just cause. But you know why a woman attacks guys like Kareem Hunt? Because she's not afraid of getting hit back.
And even if I wouldn't do what Hunt did, I'm not going to villify the guy because if you're a woman and you get violent...then what happens next is on you.

Love the move.

A young and very talented player would need to do something much worse to not get anorher shot.
Hopefully the NFL suspends him for 8 games, and puts him on a zero-tolerance warning.
Letting him play again doesn't justify or make light of his actions. It means there's a significant, but not total price to pay for conduct.

Sure, why not?
