Draft Scout Jonah Tuls weighs in on OL draft class

Ssanders9816 : 2/11/2019 9:29 pm
“This is easily one of my favorite OL classes since I started scouting. I have 19 first round grades right now... Five of those 19 are offensive linemen with six to seven more in the Day 2 range.”

This guy is a pretty good follow on Twitter, lots of good insight and video breakdowns.

And yes I know he talks/writes for a Cowboys site

Not sure if he’s a beat writer or what but that’s not apparent in his Twitter, he keeps it neutral.

Shows you how stupid this place is that you have to give this disclaimer...
This is also going to be one of the strongest

WR classes in awhile
Not that the Giants are taking any
The OL and WR class

are very deep. The record setting amount of underclassmen declaring has made this class as a whole very intriguing. I think you are gonna have 120 top-3 round grades.
Chris Lindstrom

is one of my favorites. Problem is they would probably have to use the 2nd round pick on him, and i think there will be more tempting options. Plus, i really hope they address the oline in FA's and add some depth in later rounds.

imo rd2 OL is a must
Scyber : 2/11/2019 11:09 pm : link
Rd1 could be QB/ER/OL for all I care, but there should be some good OL talent in the 2nd round.

Well assuming some really talented QB doesn't fall....
Yea

The Giants could come away with two quality OL if they can find a way to get a 3rd rounder.

As much as I favor the Giants drafting 2 or even 3 OL this year if they don't move any of those 9 picks they have from round 4 on, I could easily see them waiting until the 4th before starting to grab some of those who dropped to that point. You can simply count the #s and know that their will be 4th rounders of the caliber that David Diehl once was. Guys that aren't great fits for any one OL position, but they can play pretty well at several.

Holy crap. Trade back and get picks.
We have plenty of day 3 picks
GeorgeAdams33 : 2/12/2019 1:20 am : link
We should add a Right Tackle in the veteran free agent signing period. Our high picks need to be spent on the positions that are impossible to fill with day 3 picks such as an eventual starter at QB, another solid CB, a great ILB, or a great pass rusher. The class seems to be deepest on the DL. Whoever we take t 6 is going to be a difference maker. I don't see us trading down unless we don't like the QBs that high and everyone else happens to agree. If the QBs are of no interest and the players come off the board as projected we could have another draft where there is a drop off after the first four or five choices. If this happens we could end up looking at a bunch of guys with similar ratings where we have no convictions. In that scenario I'd love to trade down and still get a very good player but add more picks. If someone like Miami wanted to first or second QB and offered their 1, 2, 3, plus a 2 or 3 next year then I'd have to do it. The only way I like staying at 6 is if we get a QB we love or we get a true difference maker for the defensive side of the ball.

I think DD was a 6th Rounder!
If DG & co don't covet one of the QBs
BlueLou'sBack : 2/12/2019 1:55 am : link
then I think the pick will come down to one of the top DL as listed in Jeremiah's top 50 list, where 7 of his top 8 players were DL
1) Bosa
2) Williams
3) Allen
4) Gary
5) Simmons
7) Wilkins
8) Oliver

That's seven of the top 8 players on Jeremiah's list. The Giants will have a choice of at least 2 among them, and if someone leapfrogs them for Haskins, they's have a choice among 3 of them.

At 37, there will be other very fine DT/5 tech DLs and or edge players. It's a great draft to double dip for the D front seven at our 1st and 2nd slots.

I just cannot see the Giants drafting Simmons especially after the whole Josh Brown situation.
Now they're not taking Simmons

because of his training injury. But you gotta dig a little on the kid before writing him off because of the incident that happened when he was in HS, IHMO.
