From the article, it sounds like he was defending his younger sister. He initially tried to just break up the fight, but that didn't work.
Not excusing it, but when it comes to defending family,.......
His response immediately after the incident seemed genuine and sincere and he's been a model teammate and leader on and off the field ever since by all accounts....if it was a random act at some bar and he had a prior history or any additional problems, things would be different IMO.
RE: I thought he was not invited to the combines Â
Bandwagon, they really out to watch some of his interviews and what his HS coach and teammates and coaches at Miss State say about him. He seems very much to be a good dude who fucked up badly once in his life, period.
He was on a short leash with the bulldogs, and never once gave anyone there the faintest reason to doubt his sincere regret for the incident, or how he owned full responsibility for it.
No way he'll last to the fourth round. More likely he'll go in the second.

I agree with all of this.
Jaylon Smith's injury was brutal and Dallas took him in the second. That was a real gamble at the time. But it's paid enormous dividends...

From the article it sounds like...who gives a shit, go watch the video. He hits a woman who is on the ground. Again, woman on ground he hits her. He is a 6-4 300lb DT from a major Division I college program. How would you feel if that big fucking moron punched your sister while she was rolling around the ground? There is NO EXCUSE for his behavior and anyone defending him I would like to punch while they are on the ground, just so they can see what that might feel like. Fucking morons. I knew some dickheads would find a way to excuse this shit stain's behavior because he's good at football. Fuck him and fuck his knee and I hope that animal never makes a go of it in the NFL.
I actually didn't realize there were a few different videos Â
of the event. The one I remember seeing was him interjecting himself into a fight between his sister and the other chick, looks like he may even be seperating the fight almost.
A shorter video I just saw shoes him throwing fucking punches at a chicks face on the ground. What a piece of shit. This isn't a Kareem Hunt situation.
Yep:
Jeffery Simmons - ( New Window )

The woman kicking scumbag? Good for him, fucker.

He was barred from the combine so he wasn’t training for that. But he was planning on attending Miss. States pro day next month.

He wasn't training for the combine, but for his pro day and individual workouts. I wonder if he has insurance coverage.
