Was the initial post supposed to be a joke or serious? There is nothing that indicates the drummer is a female based off the video. She might have been the most masculine person in the video

Just giving you shit. But, if we’re sticking with the original question meaning women playing instruments and what not, I’ll go Bengals and then the Go-Go’s in their respective times. The Go-Go’s mostly because they had a rep for being loose ;)
That's Mick Tucker playing the drums for The Sweet, not Karen Carpenter......I can't tell if you're joking or not, but Karen Carpenter never played drums for The Sweet, and Mick Tucker is a dude
We all picked up on the clues. The reason why your thread didn't take the direction that you intended is that many likely never referred to the genre as "Lady Bands". Born in the early 70's and raised through that period, and I never heard the reference. Hair bands was a common reference, but I never heard them referred to as "Lady Bands".
RE: I didn't think the reference was so obscure. Â
perhaps at first, but after laying down 3 obvious clues, I'm surprised it hasn't been sussed out.
Yes, I know that's not Karen on drums.
OK OK...takes time to acquire these details.....sorry....I'm an impulsive poster....haha...this is actually hysterical, and I guess a lot of people aren't getting it....BTW....Poison takes the cake
but no one questioned 'what the hell is a lady band'? Why is a bunch of dudes being called a lady band? But, at least one person noticed that Karen Carpenter was not on drums.
The original intent did not go as planned, but I did find it funny that folks either completely missed the 'joke' or didn't bother to open the link and went straight to assumption mode, even after it was clear it wasn't about hot chicks playing instruments. So, you guys might not have laughed, but I did.
is I really didn't know that wasn't Karen Carpenter. Sure it looked like a dude, but I couldn't pick Karen Carpenter out of a lineup, and hey everyone has their own taste, maybe you thought that was pretty.
I still can't get over Cindy Lou is now that hard-ass babe Â

It's crazy how many Youtube videos there are of very attractive female musicians covering a song on their instrument.
The comments must scare their fathers to death.
I was wondering the same.

I like how Victoria and Geri were the hottest in the 90's, but the Mels and Emma aged much better.
Gem And The Holgrams.
Gem And The Holgrams.
What does that even mean?
+1. My vote too. Call Me!

The Spice Girls weren’t a band. Ever. They were a pop group.
Gem And The Holograms was a fictional animated rock group from the 1980s.

I've played alot with the bass player from that band. He's a tremendous sax AND trombone player as well.
Taylor has passed on a number of offers in the "legit" singing and acting world to follow her passion with this band. Kudos to her!
Sexy, fun and talented.

But, the answer was Sweet, so ...
Yes, I know that's not Karen on drums.
Ok, I admit I just paid attention to this thread. Are you telling me that the lead singer of Pretty Reckless in Cindy Lou from The Grinch?

seems I'm not alone in missing the point, not one of fkap's finest.

My first thought was the Bangles because of Hoffs, but the rest of the band...not so much. Same era, how about the Go-gos?
Liked Carlisle but you could tell she wasn't going to age well. I thought Valentine was the hottest in the group
