leading up to the NFL draft. Can be your favorite or threads you wish would go away. My personal favorite is trade down threads. Lets see who knows BBI.
But you will see a bunch of "You know, I'm really starting to warm up to X" threads and comments the week after the draft. Of course you have, you just watched the player's highlight reel 10x and read a barrage of fluff pieces on the guy. Not knocking it either, it's the time to enjoy and be optimistic as a fan but I get a kick out of the relevatory tone these posts.
The "We must take a QB at #6 (or trade up for one) regardless of the prospects available" threads. Reasons typically include:
"We cannot live in fear"
"We need to take a chance at finding a QB and hope for the best"
"We hired Shurmur to develop a QB, regardless of talent"
"I just saw Sam Darnold in a Nike ad in Times Square"
And any other reason OTHER THAN the prospect being worth the #6 overall pick.
on trading for Rosen. So that's #1 for me. The rest will be the usual mocks/rankings, DG sucks, Barkley is awesome but we can't like him since we still stink, etc.

You forgot a couple of other scenarios:
"<insert random talking head> just said that <insert Haskins, Murray or Lock> <insert standard talking head hype that has no real basis except that it drives idiots to click or view something>, we need to go get him DG make it happen"
"<insert Haskins, Murray or Locke> had <insert awesome out of context meaningless statistic>, we need to go get him DG make it happen"
Lots of people think they have the exact science of building an NFL roster down perfectly and do not acknowledge how ridiculously hard it is.
There is not 1 path to success for each team, its figuring out who you are as an organization (identity) and how to build around that. The team being built in a way that doesn't fit your preference has no bearing on whether it will work or not. Contrarily, the team being built in one's preferred style does not mean its going to work out.
I like Gettleman and Shurmur's view on what this team should look like, i like how the culture has been changed, i like that we're seemingly going to be a team with a run first identity.
But none of that matters if we don't get better players in here, and if we don't find the guy at quarterback.
in the first round" and "Please rate my mock draft"
The most clueless dolts are the ones that click on these types of threads to complain about them... It's like walking into a public bathroom and complaining that is smells like crap.
It’s always a dumb thread because it assumes there are players teams want to trade up for. And there are teams dying to move up.
“If ever there was a draft to trade down, it’s this one”
Come on, man.

People who don't understand the economics involved in the draft and make statements like this...
Any pick can be traded for the right price. There are 32 teams, they set the market value for any given pick at any given time. The team holding that pick can choose to make the trade if they think the market value is fair, or not if they think making the pick represents better value.
But to say that it assumes that somebody is willing to trade up is assinine, I guarantee that for every pick in the draft somebody is willing to trade up. It just may not meet the seller's asking price.
to the concept of trading down. Just google draft day trades 2018 and once again you will see Little Bill making many trades and manipulating the draft. I have heard on here at BBI that he is a failure at this. He just wins every year but his drafts suck.
But this year I’d like to gain some draft capital for next year’s draft so we can grab the QB of our choice. It’s about the only instance I will day this.

Oh man, the 2nd one is my favorite...
"Haskins threw 50 TDs last year! How could you possibly say he's not the next Peyton Manning?! You clearly know nothing!! I have access to a computer and can read numbers!!#$@@#! ... AND! ... I know which numbers are larger than other numbers!!!"
Remember when Geno Smith threw for 656 yards and 8 TDs that one game against Baylor? ... Good times...
But this year I’d like to gain some draft capital for next year’s draft so we can grab the QB of our choice. It’s about the only instance I will day this.
Getting more draft capital next year is my feeling as well...
The Giants can accumulate draft capitol for 2020 in the later Â
rounds when they have multiple picks. Now your not going to get first or second round picks to trade up with for your QB. However extra picks in rounds 3,4, and 5 will be needed if your trading away your higher picks for a QB.

I am not sure if this is supposed to be part of the threa in general, i.e. tiresome comments or thread or if youare trying to say something real here...
Honestly, I am not sure what you are trying to say, so maybe its the former...
As far as getting high pick(s) next year, trading down from 6 to 12th + or - should net a high #2 or low #1 in 2020... Another pick like that will make it easier to move up if necessary. Future picks can always be used to move up as well, but building up capital to use probably yields a better return.

It would be wise to use a non Patriots example. It would also be wise that people hate trade down threads because they require a ridiculous amount of variables. They are pointless.
I really did not want the thread to become a debate on trading Â
saying that they've watched "tape" of players when all they've really done is watch highlights on espn/nfl network and maybe a handful of the player's college games.

For me it’s the Rosen nonsense. Not happening but will not go away until the draft

Weird. It's almost like you're been around here for a draft season before...
