In the first 4:30 we see Hezonja run away from his man, team D leaves Reddick open for 3 while chasing Simmons outside, and also a sweet moment with 4 defenders back but STILL leave someone open on the opposite side for the easy layup like a fast break
I don't know when defense 101 stopped teaching "stop the ball first" regardless of whether it's your man or not. But I guess only a handful of teams manage solid D these days
Maybe he's regressing but to my eye he's put minimal effort on the floor since becoming a Knick. Looks like Kanter watching guys shoot over him, hand down & ignoring help vs anticipating ball movement & attacking the ball and shooter
W/ LAC even this year he was his usual high motor self the games I saw
But if you’re paying attention, you can see some piecesoossibly falling into place. I’m an admitted optimist. But I really like Jordan and his presence.

On the flipside, who is about to give him a big deal at 30?

you would think it has been discussed with him, otherwise why keep him and play him? seems like if he was not a part of the future it would be better to let him go
I get what you are saying but who else is going to play center? Robinson has shown he cannot handle heavy minutes. So, I think he is here because we need someone to play center and to help mentor Robinson. I think those are the main reasons. Anything after that is nice and may have been discussed but I doubt it at this point in time. That is something that probably happens after he shows his worth toward the end of the year. If he is part of the team next year then great. If not, it didn't hurt anybody on this team by taking minutes away.

Robinson has proven he cannot. He gets gassed quickly. He has also prove to be very foul prone. Him and Kornet really aren't enough alone.
What does Jordan wanting to play for another team have to do with anything? He is under contract with the Knicks. The Knicks only obligation is to do what is in the best interest of the Knicks. Jordan seems lke a great dude and it is obvious why he is still here.

Maybe, maybe not. Jordan doesn't seem like that type of player. We also have many more options at the 2/3 positions that Matthews was expendable. Kanter was a different animal. Again, the Knicks have been very vocal why Jordan is here.
that there's a good chance dep's favorite player-Jimmy Buckets-leaves Philly this summer.
I would be shocked if he didn't. Harris is a better, low maintenance fit with the somewhat selfish Embiid. Jimmy talks a good game, but he wants the ball even more than he cares about a winning situation. I saw someone talking about him and the Lakers last week.
Giannis Antetokounmpo's agent, Giorgos Panou, reveals in the ‘Finding Giannis' documentary that the Knicks were the one team that didn't send a scout or team staffer to see Antetokounmpo in Greece before the 2013 NBA Draft. The Knicks selected Tim Hardaway Jr. with the 24th pick in that draft. It's surprising, though, that New York wouldn't do its due diligence and see Antetokounmpo in person.
We have to get Durant... so many dominos will fall if the Knicks can get Durant to sign. We’re talking basically an all star team...
All I ask is let us land one big lucky break this summer. Either Durant or the first pick. Either one I’d be ok. If we only got the first pick and struck out in FA at least we have a nice young nucleus and money going forward.

I thought Mitch would spend the year in the G-League. Â

RE: I thought Mitch would spend the year in the G-League. Â
I've noticed the 6ers get the benefit of the whistle pretty frequently now. Warriors fans are jealous... our team has been elite for 5 years now and we're still bottom third in that department, and here comes Philly strolling in with one strong season after utter mediocrity and they're getting the calls? Whatever.
my guess sixers sensed that and traded for harris just in case...
We'll see how it turns out, but the Sixers may have screwed with their personnel decisions the last few years. They gave up alot to get Butler and Harris, and I'm honestly not sure how much better it made them in the short or definitely not long run. Especially if one of these guys walks in FA.
They'll be fine because they have 2 young all nba talent players, but I think they could have built a true juggernaut. It would have been interesting to see Hinkie finish the job...
Have we seen any meaningful development with Knox? Â
I know he's still super young, but it doesn't feel like he impacts the game at all except for scoring. I hope he can develop into a playmaker and work on his rebounding.
Knox = Brandon Ingram (lengthy, mid teens wing scorer), I suspect Knox will be a better shooter and Ingram a better passer, defender (marginally in both cases)
Trier = reminds me of Andrew Toney or if present day, Jamal Murray ---probably a poor man's version of either, but still an outstanding and free addition
Robinson = the best of the three in terms of upside, this kid's floor is Clint Capela and ceiling is his new teammate Deandre Jordan

There was a period of time where Bernard Kind took him out to eat to give him some advise, and around that same time a negative article had been written about him, where he seemed to get more aggressive and he elevated his game to a higher level. But now he seems to have again slipped back into some of his earlier habits.
Hopefully this off season he will look back at some of those things and next season be able to have more consistency at the higher level. He is still so young and will mature both physically and mentally and things should get easier for him then.
He played 37 games his one season at UK and now up to 50th his first season as a Knick. For a kid two years removed from high school he has to be wearing down at least a little.
Starting to "pull away" from us a bit. A few more Ws out of them and we'll be locked into the bottom three with Cleveland and Phoenix. That gives us the best chance possible at the #1 pick, which is all I care about. Beyond that, we just have to live with the randomness of it.

.512 eFG% over his two years... FT shooting could be better.
He heard you - what a dunk Knox
(tho I agree w/ you. And he goes to the bench w/ 3 fouls)
FTs 24 for PHI vs. 8 for the NYK...

Beginning in 2013, Jordan ranked second, third, second, sixth in number of blocks per year. Since then, nowhere.
He's not the guy people remember.

If he were helping the way he did in his prime, he'd be contesting/blocking a lot more shots.
I don't mean to be gratuitous or single him out unnecessarily but the talk about bringing him back is based on the name on the uniform.

no it is not, people said the same thing about tyson chandler, oh whybis he not helping more oh why is he not doing this...
If the guards could keep their men out of the paint hr wouldnt look as bad, he can not go and contest eveything...
the job of the center is not just to block shots..
Mitchell Robinson blocks everything but he is a horrible defender, id much rather deandre back there than robinson when the team is good
