of his college concussions are still there, no? Why would we take a chance on the (strong?) possibility that his next concussion could be a career-ender?
This has been touched upon of course, but this is really a big issue/concern.
If this has been discussed in detail, let me know and I’ll delete if necessary..
This cannot be taken lightly vis a vis any possible (speculative) trade talks between the Giants and Cards, imho.
It's solely based on a comment Kliff Kingsbury made before he was hired by Arizona.
He also had a right shoulder injury in college that cost him six games. He had surgery at the time and it hasn't reoccurred.
And, of course, there were the concussions. It's fair to wonder about his durability.
That’s why I put the word speculative near the end of my OP

Agreed, but tge injuries you cite occurs rather frequently with players. Concussions? That’s the real worry
I guess the Cards are F'd either way;)
I mean, if you were SURE his concussion issues weren't a big deal; even if you were sure his shoulder was fine; and, even if you thought his overall injury woes were more bad luck than anything else; well, you still have his EGO issues as word is he is arrogant. I don't know if the Giants would give up a #2 for him even.
All I hope for is the Rosen situation leading to one of Bosa, Q Williams or J Allen dropping to the Giants at 6.
Josh Rosen missed ZERO games due to injury. (He didn't start the season, but played 14 games.)
If he has another concussion in 2019 it will be two years since his previous one and since concussion frequency is just as important as the total number of concussions, it's incredibly doubtful that his next concussion will be a career ender.

That’s why I said COULD be a career-ender like Steve Young (albeit nearing the end anyway), Jake Plummer and others that have presently escaped my mind

Yes, you qualified it by saying "could" while at the same time suggesting that it was a "strong?" possibility.
So in other words, what you meant to say was...
Why would the Giants take a chance on the possibility, which may or may not be strong, that Rosen's next concussion may or may not be a career-ender?

I don’t see an appreciable difference even if you’re technically correct. Just the same, I thought my point was clear

Yes. Let’s lean more to speculative..😎
I recall. So that’s tgat, iyo?
However, his injury history bothered me pre-draft, too. And it would still bother me now.
So it's legitimate to re-raise it if there was a real chance to acquire him. On the plus side, it was encouraging to see him survive last year behind that drunk oline. That may have toughened him up, and that's a very good thing...
Thank you
Dave Te opined the same.
Not trying to stifle debate, but this isn't happening.
I don’t want any other vet but Eli. Let the young QB sit and learn. Regardless, the OL must be further upgraded, yesterday.

And that was behind a terrible OL , potentially weak offensive system, lack of a great running game and questionable Wrs
BTW I hope the Cards don't take Murray, because I want the Giants to take him :)
You have the power to make it stop by not clicking on the fucking thread!
Your logic is in fact faulty, and short sighted. It is not a knock on Eli Manning, it is in fact the reality. He is 38 years old, and on the back nine of his career. It is coming to an end.
Josh Rosen just turned 22 years old, and will not be entering his prime for another 5 years. He throws a beautiful ball, and has 15 years of good Quarterbacking left in him.

You realize when he said it, right?
Though I think if Rosen really is made available, Washington or Jacksonville will make much better offers for him than the Giants would.
Why? The Rosen Lobby? Any different than any other lobby? Don't like it, then don't click on it.
I wanted Rosen last year, he throws the best ball out of all the QBs drafted last year. He sees the field at least as well as all of them. Yes he had a couple medical issues, and the concussions were troubling.
He looks to be more mobile than Haskins.
They could do a lot worse.
