a Cinderella type gift. You get to pick any of your top 3 QBs currently in the NFL to QB the Giants in 2019. I mean you pick the candidate pool of 3, and she grants you one of them at her discretion. After all, she knows better than we which ones will actually lead their teams into the SB. But the Giants only get this QB for one year,,, then they will have 7 years of mediocre QB play and losing records again for the next 7 years...
Which 3 QBs would you pick for 1 year?
I would go with Mahomes, Roethlisberger, or Luck.
That's YOUR Fairy Godmother, Dommie, not ours!
Heck I'd take any 3. All 3.
Wilson just misses the cut.
I’d go Mahomes, Mayfield, Luck.
I’d go Mahomes, Mayfield, Luck.
That would be my list as well. In that order. A shame KC jumped us in the draft to get Mahomes.
Also, if football fairy Godmothers really do exist, what are the chances she exists just to fulfill MY football wishes?
What if she's also granting wishes to another guy in another city and we both want the same QB?
And finally, if there is an entity that can make things happen just by waving a magic wand, shouldn't I be wishing for something more significant like world peace, the end of disease and hunger, or at least a shit-load of money?
I’d go Mahomes, Mayfield, Luck.
I'll bet 1K on the spot that Roethlisberger has a better year than Mayfield next year by pretty much every metric you can find. Big Ben passed for 5,000 yards with 67% completions and 36 TDs. Mayfield was about 20th best by most metrics.
As for being 37, it's a one year deal not a franchise building block. For this scenario Mayfield is way down my list of preferences.
I'd go Mahomes, Russell, Luck
Rodgers got picked off 2 times all season. 16 games. 2 INT's!
He wasn't even healthy. He was playing hurt for most of the year. He hurt his knee early on and then wound up getting concussed in the last game. It wasn't really a typical year for him.
Yeah, GB was bad this year and he didn't have his typical year - but this is about the QB and nothing else. McCarthy looked like he lost the team this year and things just spiraled out of control.
Rodgers is easily a top 3 NFL QB for my money. Especially if we're now talking about neutralizing the rest of the team around them or making them play behind the Giants offensive line.
Concern over him getting re-injured is the only argument I can really come up with against him.
There definitely is - but not in terms of football ability. He just seems like a guy with a lot of skeletons in his closet. Gives off that vibe for sure, but whatever he's got going on doesn't really matter to me.
Outside of Patrick Mahomes, I don't think anyone in the league has much pure ability as Rodgers as a passer.
Elusive, cannon arm, accurate. Total package.
If not Rodgers, mahomes, brees
I think both Brady and to lesser extent Brees are on downward slopes so I expect less from both in 2019 vs 2018.
Whereas I expect Luck to improve.
Cannon arm, obviously everyone wants that. It seems decision making isn't that high either, therefore not so many votes for Brady and/or Brees.
With these preferences, if they represent a majority here (not nearly enough responses to posit that), I'm surprised more folks don't appreciate Lock.
I think I can see Haskins' so and so mobility is a concern.

I think 2018 was just a weird year for Rodgers - he hurt his knee right off the bat and he said he wasn't right until like mid-season. It was also obvious that he and McCarthy were no longer a match. Any time you have a coach get relieved of his duties mid-season, things probably aren't going too well.
...or you have Hue Jackson.
He also lost Nelson to OAK whom he always had great rapport with. Adams was fantastic, but the WR group was shallow and inexperienced despite some flashes from young guys like Valdes-Scantling.
Roethlisberger's numbers were better than Rogers A) because he threw the football more than anyone in the league, and B) he had better skill players - AB was already elite, Smith-Schuster had a breakout 2018 campaign, and Conner was really good in Bell's place - they almost didn't even miss a beat. That kid is good. Great story too.
But anyway... I still think very highly of Rodgers as a player and would take him over pretty much anyone outside of Mahomes if we're just talking about totally neutral scenarios.
I am a huge Andrew Luck fan too. It was a toss up for me between Wilson and he - Wilson has the added mobility and you don't really lose much of anything as a passer, so I went with him. But Luck is a top 5 QB for me 10 out of 10 times.

He's coming off of injury, he's 35, and he fired his previous head coach.
I think for the first time in awhile Rodgers is facing a prove it year.
-- and you're all picking Mahomes? Mahomes didn't even make it into the Superbowl this year with a much more talented team than the Giants
Goff and Brady made it to the Superbowl -- most of you are picking either of them
Wentz gets injured too much -- Rogers is dead meat behind the Giants Oline -- Wilson is dead meat too imo -- Luck wouldn't survive the season -- he'll get Romoed -- Forget Ben -- he's a whinny boy - Bree's might he's fast -- but he's vulnerable
I really don't know that any NFL QB could last behind the Giants line for a season besides Eli and Mayfield, but fairy god mother -- don't sucker punch me -- we need more than a QB
