Yeah, that didn't make sense. When they made the arrests, there were reports that they were investigating him having some involvement, and the police department refuted that. But it certainly seemed weird that the suspects would have assaulted someone the way he'd described.
I haven't the followed the story and don't know the actor from anything i watch, but the story sounded odd. The attackers sounded like they used dialogue out of bad movie. It's also odd that a couple of racist would be so knowledgeable of Empire State that they recognize him and know his character's story.
On the other hand, who would be that insanely stupid to make this up.

If it is true that this was all fabricated, then he and his accomplices need to spend a little time behind bars for recklessly endangering others. We live in a time where real events like this enrage people to the point that they riot, loot, destroy property, and in some cases harm others.
