I’d like to get some of the fantasy players thoughts on a trade proposed to me today for the upcoming season.
Keeper league, one per team, get to keep year over year with a two round penalty each year.
Here’s the proposal (keep in mind I have the #1 overall which will be Barkley):
I trade: OBJ (with 12th round keeper) and my 10th round pick (last of round)
I receive: Chris Carson (with 4th round keeper) and the other guys 3rd round pick (last of round)
I think it’s a pretty fair deal, love OBJ, but not crazy about having my top two guys on the same team from a fantasy perspective. I would also plan on nabbing Penny somewhere in the 6-8 round range as a hedge in case Carson gets hurt or underperforms.
Beckham on the other hand is no worse than a 2nd round pick and likely still a 1st rounder so getting to keep him for a 12th is an absolute steal. Hell, he's likely a steal for the next 3-4 seasons...
I certainly wouldn't deal him for just a 3rd round pick.
And Barkley averaged 130 yds, 6 catches, 1 TD in the 12 games with Beckham (~25 pts/game for full-pt PPR) compared to 120 yards, 0.75 TDs and 4 catches in the 4 games w/o Beckham.
Willing to bet Penny eats into Carson's numbers a lot this year. I don't think I would take Carson with 4th rounder in a redraft think there will be better players available. And no future keeper value where as Beckham will be a 10th rounder next year. You can get far better value in a trade.
Probably a 1st round pick last year and thus not worth being kept, especially if you have someone like Beckham that you can keep for a 12th.
I would be trading OBJ and my 1st round pick in the 2020 rookie draft for Julio and Damien Williams.
I hate giving up OBJ, especially giving up the 4 years in a dynasty league in exchange for Julio. But would be getting value back as my 2020 pick figures to be late in the round and I think Damien is worth a little more than a future #1. I do worry that KC will try to replace him sooner than later though.
I have the #3 overall pick in this coming rookie draft, I could take one of the WRs there and hope he's ready to replace Julio by 2021. My main RBs are Ingram, Miller, and Cohen so I could use an upgrade there for sure.
Thoughts?

I’d stay put, I agree with your assessment that Williams is not the long term guy in KC. Best case he’s in a time share next year. I don’t think he’s big enough to withstand a full down RB reps.
