(the one with Timothy Dalton and Max Von Sydow)
Last Saturday night we watched the Queen movie Bohemian Rhapsody (great movie btw). At the end I told her that Queen also wrote and performed the Flash Gordon theme. She just looked at me with out a clue what I was talking about. So I asked her if she ever saw the Flash Gordon movie. She responded with who is that?
So I made her watch the movie last night. At which time she asked me when does he get his powers? I said what powers? She said his speed.
She mixed up the Flash with Flash Gordon. I just stared at her in disbelief and hung my head. Needless to say she was not a fan of the movie. Should I make her watch the Highlander? They also did the Highlander theme.
I know cool story bro!!
Looking back (and present since Roger & Brian are still performing), it wasn't being scattered at all. It was a genuine interest in all interpretations of music and doing a soundtrack was simply a natural extension.
Director states Flash Gordo was big inspiration for Ragnarok.

Oh I dragged her to the theater for all the Thors!
They also got how the band met a little wrong plus Freddie was not the only reason they separated for a time.
BUT THE FUCKING ROCKED LIVE AID!!!!!
I also read that the meeting with the record company exec (Mike Meyers) never really happened. It was kind of a joke just to get Meyers in the flick and put down the song BR...a reference to Wayne's World.

For example, they made Freddie the heavy because he wanted to do a solo album when in fact Roger had done a solo album first with "Fun in Space". In fact, because they couldn't get all their songs onto an album, it was necessary for them to do solo albums to get their music out.
Second, it wasn't Freddie's father that wanted him to get a normal job and live a normal life, it was Brian's. LOL
...They've just been changed.
The 80's cartoon series version was also cool.
