FA Target - Anthony Barr

wanted NYG to draft him back in 2014. He is actually a very good pass rusher, Minnesota just didn't use him that way.

One of those players who has not quite lived up to his draft billing. He's failed to kick on but a 3-4 may suit him better.

4 time pro bowler, AP... might be too pricey for a linebacker.

I'd love to add to the defense, but any big money will probably go to the OL.

But like any player its all about the money.

Does he get paid like a LB or DE (i.e. Edge Rusher)???

and isn't worth big money.

Kind of looks like what the Giants have in Vernon, just 1/2 the price.

I shouldn't say that. Vernon is a much better pass rusher and more dominate player. Just wish he wasn't paid so much.

I like Anthony Barr if he is available for a reasonable price (of which I am doubtful).

Where would you look at playing him in Bettcher's system? OLB or ILB next to Ogeltree?

What if we let Collins walk and pursue Jadaveon Clowney instead? He will cost some dough, but he is young and an excellent passrusher who could play DE in a 3-4. He would be more valuable than Collins. But he would also cost more money.

He’s the kind of player that if you use him right he’s lethal and if you don’t he disappears.

That said I think he's been just decent so far as a pro. Has underperformed his Draft slot imo. When yousay he's a pass rusher but his team didn't 'use him' that way it doesn't make sense. They don't like getting pressure? Or is it that when he's been asked to rush he hasn't gotten home enough to warrant using him as a primary rusher. That seems more likely to me.

Pass on him unless his price drops significantly.

1. Better run defender than pass rusher

2. Will get more money than Vernon on the open market.

Not worth the money that the Giants won’t have to compete w Colts, Jets, Texans, Bills, etc.

He'll get money he's not quite worth. Just like Vernon.

Is a guy they need to target. Looked very good in Bettcher's D prior to his injury. Played out out of position as a DE last year so he didn't have a great season. Much better fit as a OLB and can probably be had relatively cheap.
