lol.
A movie/series about the actual WWF era of the 80's would be way cooler than a biopic on this guy. What has he done in his life outside of Wrestling that is exciting?

to miss it.

I just realized the Undertaker is in it too!
I just realized the Undertaker is in it too!
undertaker is 26 years old there.
Is this suppose to make me want to see this film more? No one knows about The Joker nor has it even premiered.

Oh dear gawd. I forgot about that Emmy winner.
Doooookiiieeee
Hulk Hogan has been the face of wrestling since the 80s. He’s the Michael Jordan if the industry. You don’t think there is anything interesting to see there?
They are going to show behind the scenes stuff as well. He helped take down the WWF when they went to court for the steroid thing in the 90s.
It will be interesting. I highly suggest you listen to Steve Austin Podcast one particularly where he talks to someone like DDP or Kevin Nash, or Scott Hall. How people get into wrestling and build their brand is very business related. It is really great insight into how to stick out amongst the competition, etc.
Then you add in, some of the crazy stories that go on on the road or backstage. It's great entertainment.

has been the face of wrestling I don't see this being something a non-wrestling fan would be interested in seeing. What about his life is worth going to the movies to see if you could barely pick him out of a lineup? So, he participated in a fake sport and juiced up on steroids. That's worth spending 2 hours of my life watching?

what does "help take down the WWF" mean? They were acquitted.
Regardless - seems like Hogan's life story would be better served by a documentary. The guy is basically a cartoon character come to life already. You don't need to dramatize anything.

Well at the time, his testimony was pretty damning. The WWF was suffering from bad publicity, and WCW was winning the Monday Night War.
Hogan testifying against McMahon was a huge deal and one of the reasons it took so long to be rectified.
A film on Netflix will basically be a documentary.

Monday night wars were after the steroid trials.
huh? What took so long to be rectified?
again, huh? What does that even mean?

1) WWF wasn't the media Giant it is today back when the Steroid trials were going on. Vince couldn't pay to keep a ton of its top talent, and they left for WCW. Not Nash or Hall just yet.
2) After Hogan testified against McMahon, they had a terrible relationship, and it was thought that he would never go back to the WWF. I guess rectified was the wrong word to use, but that relationship took a long time to mend but eventually happened.
3) The film will be on Netflix, and it will be more along the lines of a made for TV Movie, that is somewhat of a documentary. It will probably be better than one you get on Cable, but it's not going to be in theaters.

But, I don't get how there is enough material to make a decent biopic.

In fairness, I think the same can be said about Michael Jordan, who you referenced as a peer.

No, I don't. Any wrestling fans already know what there is to know and the stuff Hogan says in interviews no is all grossly exaggerated by most accounts. There really isn't much there other than the wrestling, which most fans and fringe fans already know. I can't see too many non-wrestling enthusiasts watching this.

Lol, what an awful take. I guess the same can be said for any previous movie based on true events.
“Nobody is going to see the movie Titanic because they already know how it ends.”
Hogan was an immensely popular and iconic figure for two decades and helped build the sports entertainment industry. I’m sure there are plenty of details that many aren’t deeply familiar with.
Let’s just call this what it is...people love to mock pro wrestling (especially on BBI) because they “just don’t get it.” Which of course, they do get it a that’s just their condescending way to mock wrestling fans. There is more than enough in Hogan’s life and career to make an entertaining movie.
Funny, you didn’t make it onto the Ted Bundy Netflix thread considering we already know what he did and how he did it.
