Outside of some VERY exciting offensive weapons, the New York Giants have holes all over the roster and it’s not getting fixed by one draft. So as you read through this, realize I did my best to focus on premium positions, but General Manager David Gettleman has his work cut out for him to get this roster corrected. Projected to have just under $30 million in salary cap space, I don’t expect the Giants to be overly active in free agency. With that said, making sure Landon Collins is secured for the long-term should be a top priority for the Giants’ brass. Round 1, Pick No. 6: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State I know opinions on Haskins are all over the place but I believe the Giants have to take the chance on him. Completing 70 percent of his passes for 4,831 yards with 50 touchdowns and 8 interceptions, Haskins had a historically great season for a Big Ten quarterback in 2018. His ability to slot throws from the pocket to the dynamic Ohio State offensive weapons can transition to the NFL where Odell Beckham, Evan Engram, Sterling Shepard and Saquon Barkley would immediately be at his disposal. The Giants make sense for Haskins and I think it would be his best chance to reach his ceiling. |
You don't take a chance on a player at #6.
As far as the rest of the draft, Cajuste and Hollins are fine, the rest not so much. We will also likely receive a fourth round compensatory pick.
Like Yodney at 2. That’s about it with this mock
Just an aside. They should make Engram their big WR which will cause major matchup problems and go into FA and go after one of the top TEs who can also run block
Make this offense as explosive as possible
Draft as much defensive talent as possible and live with Eli another year or two

I wonder how Engram would do lined up against CB’s and playing more outside the numbers?
If it something the Giantscactually do they should add another TE in the draft. Solid group
The Giants need to rush the QB better. We were pathetic and I think a solid edge rusher will be there at #6 as someone will trade up in round 1 to take Haskins and maybe even Murray.
I would not mind a slight trade down either should some team get ancy. We need bodies as we have a lot of holes.
Next year, we'll run this back again. These QBs stink. Let's resign Eli, get one more season out of him, draft another player, and draft Lawrence in 2021. Then what?
They’re not even similar players. Any he hasnt been turnover prone. Your post makes no sense do some research.
If you think Haskins won't be a good NFL QB, that's a valid reason for not wanting him. But if you want to wait for a sure-fire All Pro QB, accept that you may be waiting a long time, and you may need to give up multiple draft picks to get him. Oh yeah, and he still may bust...

Haskins does not make the Giants a better team. Can he drive the team down for a TD when they are down by 4 in the 4th quarter? Do the Giants have a defense that is good enough to cover up his mistakes, like a fumble or INT? There is just so much more talent on defense and in the oline to pass up a player that came in and contribute immediately.

He thinks like Steven A Smith ... black QB has to be a run 1st QB ....
The one player I would trade up for maybe 2 or 3 spots if available is Josh Allen, DE from Kentucky.
Those two could very well be gone when we pick in the 1st so it's either BPA as usual, or trade back to the middle of the 1st, gaining some extra picks. I know what you are all thinking, LOL.
Then trade up from the 2nd round using other draft picks to the 1st round where they can get a pass rusher or a quality front 7 defensive player.
