Just thought I'd start a new thread for the deadline which is 4 days away: Monday 2/25 at 3pm.
First off, the Rangers are heavily shopping Zuccarello, Hayes and McQuaid, but teams are asking about Kreider.
The Leafs have shown the most interest so far, but the Bruins and Predators have also shown interest.
Gorton will allegedly not move Kreider unless it's an offer "he can't refuse". Kreider finally showing the true 200 foot game I thought he'd show is not someone I'd trade at this point.
The most common names expected to be moved are:
Mark Stone (OTT)
Matt Duchene (OTT)
Artemi Panarin (CBJ)
Jesse Puljujarvi (EDM)
Ilya Kovalchuk (LAK)
and more.
I'll keep this thread updated with news and rumors as it comes out and I welcome others too as well.

Capitals acquire defenseman Nick Jensen and a 2019 fifth-round pick (originally from Buffalo) from the Red Wings for defenseman Madison Bowey and a 2020 second-round pick. #ALLCAPS
2:58 PM - 22 Feb 2019
I like that model of 1 first for the rental, another if he signs long term. I'd have no issues with Isles doing something similar for Stone (or Panarin if CBJ is still listening).
@NYP_Brooksie
At least as of this morning, Tolvanen is not available in exchange for a rental. If Rangers want him, it will cost Kreider. Predators apparently not in on Hayes, have interest in Zuccarello, as do Flames, Penguins, others.

There is disappointment in talking with teams this morning in terms of rentals available on D. Mild interest in @NYRangers Adam McQuaid price is a 3rd Teams turning to non rentals like @LAKings Alec Martinez, 2 yrs left. Prices are not cheap. Keep an eye on #Brodin @NHLNetwork

The Isles had like 5 guys on Pronman's list and 3 first rd pick forwards at BPT who are all dealable with (MDC/JHS/Bellows) so I'm personally hoping they are able to get Stone or Panarin for a similar style offer to the one that landed Duchene (2019 first + conditional 2020 first based on resigning).

I think it was light based on the reported ask, and the lack of quality C's available.
but at the end of the day, Duchene will not be in OTT next year, so it's better than nothing.

If he's just a rental, it's 2 c level prospects and a first round pick. Forget elite prospects, neither of the guys they dealt was seemingly on any of the top 50-100 lists - but I'm far from an expert on them.

Yea I don't think Ottawa did badly - especially if they chose the destination wise enough to get the 2nd first round pick. That's the key. It doesn't matter so much to them which team retains him going forward, but getting that extra first would be huge.
Overall it was a fairly normal rental price, probably slightly less than the Karlsson deal which is to be expected midseason - I guess I'm just a little surprised the top teams in the west didn't beat the offer. If the Isles don't do end up doing something significant I'll be surprised they didn't beat that offer.
Trading valuable prospect assets or picks for any of them would be inappropriate.
Johansson would be different but I wouldn't give up much for him either.

Who are the top prospects on the Habs? Obviously Kotkaniemi is #1 and he's not going anywhere. Same with Domi.
Mete? Meh. We have our version of him in DeAngelo.
Is Ryan Poehling your #1 prospect who's not in the NHL?

justice to me, if the Habs trade for Hayes as much as I've criticized him over the years. I don't want Hayes, Zucc or McQuaid on the Canadiens. They're not a contender or a Hayes, Zucc, or McQuaid away from being one.

Jesse Ylonen
top 5 after KotKaniemi IMO

I'm confident that the Devils will get a 1st round pick in return. I was hoping the Devils would get another 1st in order to draft G Spencer Knight.
And this market may be tight to being with since EK and ROR cost 2 playoff contenders first round pick before the season started and Montreal has already said they aren't dealing their pick despite being in contention.

CLB/OTT deal is Dzingel and Calgary7th (OTT owns) in 2019 for 2 2nds and Anthony Duclair
I've gotta think they are loading up to hedge against dealing off Panarin to recoup some of these assets and retool on the fly. Or they are really rolling the dice.
confirmed now for 2 conditional picks.

If the Devils don't get a 1st then I would still be happy with two 2nd's. I consider Johansson a better player than Dzingel so hopefully the return will be at least the same.

2nd and 3rd rounder. Jeff Gorton is absolutely awful at maximizing value.
Given that return and Dzingel, I'd guess Hayes/Stone/Panarin are the only guys who would bring back firsts of the remaining names on the market.
Bad job there.
So, the conditions can make the haul a lot better... but neither of those things are certainties and if neither of those things happen, this is a really shitty coup
McDonagh + Miller trade? Atrocious.
This trade? Horrible. Truly awful.

It's official
I don't think fans will be happy, but Zucc is a 31 year old rental.
This is what they were projecting all along, no?
Gorton: ...Okay, but that third becomes a first if you re-sign him.
Nill off the phone: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Nill on the phone: What? Oh yeah, sure sure. Third becomes a first IF we re-sign him.
It's akin to the Stars trading an unconditional first to re-signing Zucc.

DAL gets Zuccarello
NYR gets 2nd + 3rd (w/ conditions)
Zucc's been really good this yr, especially lately, and mid-round picks are only long shots anyway. I don't know /why/ DAL thinks they're a contender but they paid a good price for a good rental.
The cap hit is probably why the 3rd was thrown in or maybe why it was a 3rd instead of a later pick. The Rangers don't care about 2018-2019 cap at this point, right?

No. Plenty of cap space to work with and it's not we're committing longterm to anyone.

Right. So keeping as much cap (if it gets you more/better picks) was smart.

But it shouldn't. We essentially traded Zucc for a second rounder. Did you see what Ryan fucking Dzingel got?
Said a 1st and Logan Stanley is about what he'd expect.
Logan Stanley is a BIG LHD. like Chara big.

Pretty similar trades for similar players.

Not yet. he's 20 years old, but at 6'7 240 pounds he moves well. As he gets older though I'm sure he'll get slower.

Just based on doing a bit of reading on him, he sounds like the lefty version of McIlrath.

Is Boston still in the mix for Hayes?

Probably. He said the same teams are in the mix for Stone and Hayes.
Winnipeg, Boston, Nashville
probably more teams, but that's who he mentioned.
