Cabo sun must be getting the best of me but I’m going to defend the Giants here:
1. OBJ isn’t on the trade block at this time
2. They likely will keep Collins
3. OK, no comment https://t.co/Niu2YKsYrt

They did try to move Collins last year. Nobody bit.

Not true. Chiefs offered a 3. DG wanted a 2 if rumors were correct.
In other news, the sun rose on the east this morning
Thanks Jordan
Maybe it will actually happen one day, but I highly doubt there’s any truth to it the year after we paid him

Not sure what isn't true about it. Would it be better if I said nobody bit at DG's asking price?

OBJ was never going to be traded and taken away from Eli. Sure, DG may have asked for pie-in-the-sky that he knew wasn't realistic.
Collins almost certainly gets a contract structured like the one OBJ got last year got with the first year cap hit massaged to be as low as possible.
That will maximize the leftover to be spent an other assets for the coming season. And every penny will be spent.

I really don't think the team has a goal to prove they can win with Eli. They are not just keeping Eli to make a point. The question that needs to be asked is what better option is there right now? What QB gives us a better chance to win in 2019... and will he sign a one year, relatively cheap deal?
Collins has missed playing time the last two seasons.....has not played anywhere near the 2016 Collins.....can't cover....
I have to laugh when I hear people say, he looks bad because of the players around him are bad....would LT look back surrounded by these guys? He is is not a play maker.....he is noted for his tackling, but he has had his fair share of misses, and what is more alarming is how he takes himself out of plays.....
And yet, despite all that, let's sign him to a large contract, despite what we have seen from him the last 2 years.....how the hell did he get all pro recognition these last two years?
Pay big bucks for him.....then you can put him up on the pedestal beside OV.....only this time you know what you were getting....
Collins will go to the highest bidder if we don't franchise him....I hope we don't do either.....overpaying him is cap space that should be used elsewhere....
As long as they continue straddling the line between a rebuild and winning now, we'll see speculation. And don't expect NYG to come outright and squash it either.
