NFT: Samsung Galaxy - S8

GiantsUA : 2/22/2019 10:25 am
Anyone have an S8? My S6 which I really liked needs replacing.

I like Samsung - cost is an issue, any suggestions?

Amazon Prime pricing seems to be the lowest I am seeing.

I have an S8 Active ...

... which is pretty much the same as an S8, except it's military grade and doesn't need a case. I've dropped this thing twice on asphalt and threw it 5 feet another time with no effect other than a cracked screen protector.
I have one

Been a good phone for me. Had for about year and half now and my battery life isnt anywhere it used to be but that just seems par for the course for these phones unfortunately. Looking to upgrade to the 10.
Get the S8 Active as mentioned above

The standard S8 and S8+ have some of the worst results in drop testing of any smartphone. Even minor drops on carpet have caused the curved screen to crack. Then if you get a bulky case, kind of negates the purpose of getting a slim sleek smartphone.

S8 Active is alot more durable and would last you longer. It's worth the investment.
I have the S8

Really happy with it. Haven't even considered upgrading.

Only thing that's a pain in the ass is how many times Bixby and Peel Remote open up unprompted.
I have an S8+

Anak, press the Bixby button and find settings (you might have to set it up first, ironically) and you can disable it there. Now any accidental press won't trigger anything.
I have the Note version of the 8

no real complaints. the bixby thing is a pain un the nuts but i changed it to the open camera button. my phone takes a beating so the screen cracks are to be expected for me personally, but im sure any phone i had would look similar or worse.
Samsung announced yesterd that they will let you remap

the bixby button in phones that update to Android Pie with their new UI. Not sure if the S8 is scheduled for that update or not (I have an S9).

That is fantastic news. Now I can accidentally silence my phone instead of initiating Bixby!
