Been listening to your podcasts for a while Dave and always appreciate your insights an humor.
I had one question if you have a chance to see it:
I think CB's are one of the most difficult and high impact positions to fill in the NFL after QB. Given that JackRabbit is getting older and there are questions about his commitment level and that Beal is an unkown entity it appears out CB group is another big weakness but that must be addressed. It appears there are decent prospects in this draft but that it is not it's strong suit. teams don't let good Cbs go in FA and we don't have the cash for them anyhow. How would you attempt to address this vital position if you were the GM?
Thank you
Usually, teams prefer "fresh" legs in the draft than on the vet FA market, unless it is an elite guy. Unfortunately, that is not on the FA market, thus a low-end CB like Robert Alford got 7 mil per from the Cards after ATL cut him.
Actually, I think the Giants are going to look at a lot of Windy City film, as the Bears Callahan is possibly the best value CB on the FA market & if Collins walks, their safety Amos is another unheralded star.
The draft is deep depth wise at CB, but with so many line issues (both sides), the Giants could find another "jackrabbit" in South Dakota State's Jordan Briown, a guy they pushed to get into the Senior Bowl
I think Giants are in decent shape at corner - Jenkins, Webb, Beal, Lippett, Hamilton. Could be better but goeed nough for CB to not be to high on their FA shopping list.
