One sleeper team for RB Le’Veon Bell: The #Raiders. He’ll have a ton of suitors, but Oakland will be ready and is willing to spend for star power even after acquiring Antonio Brown.

Both about to get paid too. Humphries will flirt with $10m per year. And it sounds like Alexander, despite his ACL tear last year, is going to clear that threshhold by a significant margin.
Then TB is foolish. He’s a nice slot WR. However with Evans, Godwin, and Howard - he’s sometimes your 4th option. Ridiculous to pay that amount to someone if that value.
And if he gets 10, imagine what SS will want next year? Again, I am not sure why many on BBI would think he would get a reasonable contract.

The Bucs aren't going to give it to him. I'd assume Shepard is going to get right around what Humphries does.

The #Lions plan to sign former #Patriots and #Dolphins WR Danny Amendola to a 1-year deal that includes $4.5M guaranteed base, source said. With incentives, that can bring him to $5.75M. Great addition to the locker room.
The free agent negotiating period begins today. Giants concentration will be on defense, particularly on pass rushers. Expected to be in the market Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith.
How? Don’t they have less than the NYG to work with, cap wise? They’re entire team essentially consists of high priced vets and a Wentz deal is on the horizon.
anything close to $10M per season? Spotrac's market value tool is nice, but (IMO) it's comparing the wrong receiving stats. Targets and Receptions aren't particularly useful measures of WRs ability by themselves and those are 2 of the stats most in his favor relative to his comps (Baldwin, Lockett, Stills, Lee). But noticeably absent from Spotrac's stats is Yards/Reception (or yards/tgt) which is a much better representation of a WRs value. In that metric Humphries averages a full 2 yards less (16%) than the worst of his comps. In that regard, he's much closer to Cole Beasley as a player who Spotrac didn't even think merited a "Market Analysis".
And it's definitely not good if you're a SS fan as he's a significantly better player than Humphries. Shepard's y/r are still a tick below those other 4, but he's trending upwards here (10.5 as a rookie, 12.4 and then 13.2 last season) and he's much better at finding the endzone than Humphries: 14 TDs vs 9 TDs despite one less season. Not to mention his outstanding run blocking.

A 33 year old WR who is oft-injured, has exactly one reception over 40 yards in the past 5 seasons and has had 2 or less TD's in 6 of his 10 years in the league.

They're morons then, unless they're cloning Brady too. And even Edelman's value is largely because he's a $5-6M per year player. The Pats would never give him $10M per.

I’m curious to see if they will lower Kevin Zeitler’s bass salary down to the guaranteed money he’s due, which is around $3.5M. And I remain curious to see if they do anything with Eli Manning’s number.

Agreed. It's not fantasy football. Locker Room. mentoring, playoff/SB experience, being a professional, are all parts of it.
no one says locker room and mentoring aren't important Â
but they're not things that teams need to pay a premium for. Doubt teams were lining up for Stewart last year or Amendola this year. Both guys likely could've been signed for half of what they were given.
That said, the Stewart signing also isn't worth all the hand wringing (either way) so I'll refrain from responding to this any further.
Mauro and Martin were brought here, first, to fill out the roster during defensive overhaul, and second, based on talent.
Last year they had a new coordinator implementing a new defensive front. They needed bodies to fill out the 3-4 scheme they were changing to and with the salary cap limitations and X number of picks through the draft, you can't switch from 4-3 to a 3-4 and sign a top player at every position. They needed guys on the field last spring and summer and throughout the season who already had knowledge of what Betcher is trying to do to expedite the transition.

#Buccaneers are shopping WR DeSean Jackson, who prefers to go to the #Eagles, per @JennaLaineESPN and @Tim_McManus.
Ryan Tannehill could end up staying in Florida, but not in Miami..

No they won't be cheap. According to our very own JonC the Giants will be aggressive in free agent Safeties.
