Desean Jackson wanted to end his career in Philly. Now that the Eagles agreed with this move they must get rid of Aghular! Great strategy!
Not saying it won’t work out, just that it wasn’t much forethought involved.
Why does this mean the end of Agholor? It probably means the end of Tate there, but if you have Jackson and Jeffrey on the outside and Agholor as your 3 with Ertz as your TE, that’s not too shabby.
I can't link it at work, but Warren Sharp pointed out that the routes Jackson runs most successfully align well with the routes Wentz throws most successfully. I think this was a well thought out move by Philly, and I don't expect we'll be laying Jackson out over the middle very much.
You're right....he doesn't go over the middle.
He doesn't have to. They have other players for that.

....except that one time...Dunta Robinson hit him so hard they BOTH had concussions. Brutal collision.

We agree, that's not what he is. He's a historically excellent deep threat WR. I'm just not sure why his plays over the middle are a criticism.
Would you take Humphries and Crowder or Beckham? You can line almost any WR in the NFL up across from Beckham and still get better production than a Humphries+Crowder combo!
They are both slot WRs and Humphries was one of the best 3rd down slot WRs out there. 4 years for 38 Mil is probably a 3 year deal worth about 23-24... I was expecting more with this market.
Humphries might have incredible 3rd down #s but he's not woth that kind of $. Slot wrs are a dime a dozen.
@RapSheet
The #Raiders are expected to sign for former #Rams franchise player, safety Lamarcus Joyner, sources say. A free safety that gives them speed in the secondary.
Also i read on twitter, (can't find the tweet), the jets are looking to move on from Daren Lee after signing barr. I know a lot of you guys likes him coming out of college.
4 time pro bowler, prime of his career. Fits in perfectly with what Williams wants to do. Jets needed a major talent upgrade at linebacker and they got it. They weren't going to sit on all that cap space forever and I'm glad they're investing it in players who have their best years ahead of them
We're seeing a bunch of the teams with major cash uncommitted over the next 2 years (Bills, Colts, Texans, Raiders) reset the market on positions.
In a ~190M cap league 8-9M for a representative 2nd receiver and 10M+ for a good-to-very-good secondary player isn't absurd.
I wish the Giants could play in that range, and had sat out the 17M LT, 23M QB, 12M LB range.
The resetting of the market by those teams is unfortunate because it will hurt them and other teams in the long run. I’m happy for the players getting all this cash, but some of the deals are absurd. Devin Funchess 1 year for $13M. That is absolutely crazy.

But I also can see perhaps Gase pushing for it. But allocated so much of your resources to Bell...eh not thrilled with that idea. Supposedly they're still in on CJ Mosley which is good.

RE: Hard to imagine Williams not getting 10-12 per year Â
At minimum. I don't think the Giants go that route
Out of curiosity, why the hell would they not? The line has been a mess for years, they just traded for one of the better guards in football, why not spend the bulk of their salary cap money on solidifying the line once and for all
And the other contracts today... I am really hoping we don’t trade OBJ. The guy is a game changing player and the best at his position and we’ve got him for only a few more mill per year than Funchess? For the next 4 years? Yeah let’s see if we can make this work please.
This is why when you have a top 3 (at position) player you sign him. Because you are securing an X factor for not much more money than the mid-tier guys. If it’s a guy like Collins, you let him walk, because here’s no point breaking the bank for a 1 dimensional player who doesn’t fit your scheme. I don’t buy into the idea that if you have a good young player you have to keep him. If you’re going to spend a bunch of money on a young player he better A) be a huge difference-maker or B) be a perfect fit for your scheme
Jamison Crowder is a very shrewd move. Good slot player who is very good at finding space in zones. Could end up being a nice safe blanket for Darnold.

I agree. The other FA options plug holes. Williams completes a unit and sets up the entire offense for a good year.

If you are going to let good players walk, you had better come up with a good player machine that keeps churning out good players, because that is a recipe for mediocrity. Hasn't it always been a BBI meme that the scheme needs to fit the players so the team is not in a perpetual hunt to find players?

True, but only 41 catches.
My prediction is you'll start to see injuries and the body breaking down....only 10 starts last year....just 4 TDs.
At least, that's what I am hoping!!

And dirty. Wasnt he the cocksucker on the Texans diving at the Giants receivers' knees?

Yep, that was the cocksucker in question
Bell and Tevin Coleman have the same agent so both of those guys taking some time right now.

I like Amos. Good tackler.
In a ~190M cap league 8-9M for a representative 2nd receiver and 10M+ for a good-to-very-good secondary player isn't absurd.
I wish the Giants could play in that range, and had sat out the 17M LT, 23M QB, 12M LB range.

This is not true. Most likely the players they sign will have really low cap hits this year that jump up after Eli's contract is off the books.
Just look at Landon Collins new deal. It averages 14 million a year yet his cap hit is only 4 million for this season.
25.5 guaranteed. 11.125 mpy new Center money.
Jets spending their money!!
