Lawrence is looking at getting 50% more per season than Alexander. His comps are Mack, Ford, Clowney, and the other elite pass rushers that have recently signed.

So much for the weak Foles market talk. 4 years and those guarantees firmly take them out of the rookie QB market. Don't think the Broncos or Dolphins have the juice to get to 3 or 4, I'd worry about the Bucs though.

Either way, if the Giants are in love with a QB, the price in a trade up went down which is good news.

So a million less than Eli is getting? :P

Your law degree didn't require math? Eli's yearly cash earnings for 2019 will be $17M. So Foles will be making $5M more than Eli for 2019.

Eli also has a 5 mil dollar roster bonus on March 15th making his total for the year 22-23 mil

Hey, Dummy. You coming at me with Salary Cap questions? You don't think I'm aware of the RB? I will repeat. Eli's Yearly Cash Earnings for 2019 will be $17M. Not a cent over. The cash earning include his salary, roster bonus, workout bonus.

And since you were a dick I am going to make you look more like a fool... Eli year salary for this year is 23 mil because he already got paid a signing bonus that 6.2 mil which counts for this year. If you then say ohh oh oh but I am talking about yearly cash earnings and to be a dick I don't want to count the yearly cash earning signing bonus for Eli that counts against his cap well then all of Foles signing bonus will count as this years cash earnings meaning probably higher than 22 mil right? Don't be a dick you aint special because there is nothing we can't learn from you that you can't just find on a cap website.

They are both slot WRs and Humphries was one of the best 3rd down slot WRs out there. 4 years for 38 Mil is probably a 3 year deal worth about 23-24... I was expecting more with this market.

Why does this mean the end of Agholor? It probably means the end of Tate there, but if you have Jackson and Jeffrey on the outside and Agholor as your 3 with Ertz as your TE, thats not too shabby.

We're seeing a bunch of the teams with major cash uncommitted over the next 2 years (Bills, Colts, Texans, Raiders) reset the market on positions.

In a ~190M cap league 8-9M for a representative 2nd receiver and 10M+ for a good-to-very-good secondary player isn't absurd.

I wish the Giants could play in that range, and had sat out the 17M LT, 23M QB, 12M LB range.

The resetting of the market by those teams is unfortunate because it will hurt them and other teams in the long run. Im happy for the players getting all this cash, but some of the deals are absurd. Devin Funchess 1 year for $13M. That is absolutely crazy.

At minimum. I don't think the Giants go that route

Out of curiosity, why the hell would they not? The line has been a mess for years, they just traded for one of the better guards in football, why not spend the bulk of their salary cap money on solidifying the line once and for all
Seeing that Funchess contract

And the other contracts today... I am really hoping we dont trade OBJ. The guy is a game changing player and the best at his position and weve got him for only a few more mill per year than Funchess? For the next 4 years? Yeah lets see if we can make this work please.

This is why when you have a top 3 (at position) player you sign him. Because you are securing an X factor for not much more money than the mid-tier guys. If its a guy like Collins, you let him walk, because heres no point breaking the bank for a 1 dimensional player who doesnt fit your scheme. I dont buy into the idea that if you have a good young player you have to keep him. If youre going to spend a bunch of money on a young player he better A) be a huge difference-maker or B) be a perfect fit for your scheme
I think the Jets getting...

Jamison Crowder is a very shrewd move. Good slot player who is very good at finding space in zones. Could end up being a nice safe blanket for Darnold.

I agree. The other FA options plug holes. Williams completes a unit and sets up the entire offense for a good year.
Because if they sign Williams for that money
jeff57 : 3/12/2019 5:08 am : link
Theyll only have about $13 million for a defense with holes all over the place.

This is not true. Most likely the players they sign will have really low cap hits this year that jump up after Eli's contract is off the books.

Just look at Landon Collins new deal. It averages 14 million a year yet his cap hit is only 4 million for this season.
Nobody should be shocked by these free agency numbers.

.
Bills FA center - Mitch Morse (Who?)
ZogZerg : 3/12/2019 6:16 am : link
Gets 4 year 44.5 million deal.

25.5 guaranteed. 11.125 mpy new Center money.

Jets still favorite to land Bell
ZogZerg : 3/12/2019 6:18 am : link
Doesn't sound like there is a big market for him.
Former Ravens LB - CJ Mosley expected to sign with Jets

per Rap.

Jets spending their money!!

5 year 85 million!
51 million Guaranteed

17M per for a middle LB (non pass rusher)!
Luke Kuechly isn't a pass rusher either
Ten Ton Hammer : 3/12/2019 7:09 am : link
He's been making 17 million for a while. Mosely is in the same neighborhood as a player and a year younger.
Correction: it's just the high water mark for Luke's contract

If you are going to let good players walk, you had better come up with a good player machine that keeps churning out good players, because that is a recipe for mediocrity. Hasn't it always been a BBI meme that the scheme needs to fit the players so the team is not in a perpetual hunt to find players?
