#Falcons are finalizing a deal with former #Giants and #Rams G Jamon Brown, per @ZachKleinWSB. Should be a 3-year deal when all set and done.
with Zietler

We had moved on
He stopped the bleeding... one of the better waiver wire pickups

for us in a long time. I wish him well.
Good luck, big guy.

sorry to see him go, but he obviously became less important after we traded for Zeitler. He'd be a valued backup, but not a starter. I assume he's starting for Atlanta.
too bad
SHO'NUFF : 3/12/2019 3:52 pm : link
wanted him back for depth... this reeks of DJ Fluker all over again.
Glad he came
BillT : 3/12/2019 3:52 pm : link
Glad he's leaving (for Zeitler).
Browns arrival stabilized this franchise

From flaming dumpster fire to just a bad team

Thanks for the effort and best of luck, Jamon Brown!
i am actually happy with this

It helps with our compensation scoresheet. We can get another backup who doesn't count against the formula.
I hope it's for a lot of money
JoeFootball : 3/12/2019 3:54 pm : link
It will be important come compensatory pick time
It's supposed to be a 3 year deal

Former Jets' LG James Carpenter intends to sign a four-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons, per source.
He was a Giant improvement
arniefez : 3/12/2019 4:05 pm : link
but he struggled with stunts too. Is that a Giant thing?
Great Kid!

Hope he does well!

Hoped we could keep him around as a swing/depth guy but not at that price. Zeitler made him expendable enough - now we need a RT.
I wonder what kind of
Dnew15 : 3/12/2019 4:15 pm : link
money he'll get.
Depth is nice...
BillKo : 3/12/2019 4:20 pm : link
...but he sees the handwriting, he won't be a starter here.

Obviously he wants to start, and along with that, get starter's money.

And to the comp pick guru's he probably counts towards the formula in our favor. I think.

Fluker is a FA now.
Going to miss the big Ham

Seemed like a good guy
He made our line much better.
HoustonGiant : 3/12/2019 4:39 pm : link
But we were starting from so low. I wish he'd stay as a backup, but he's been a starter his whole career. Can't blame him.

Sign him up for RT duty! (I know he failed miserably at tackle.)
I liked Brown

He wasn't great by any means. I think he got a bit of a bad rap by some mostly because he was next to Wheeler and Pulley.

Zeitler is certainly a nice upgrade.

I hope Brown got a decent deal, and that helps us with comp picks!
Kind of an amusing case study
mfsd : 3/12/2019 5:15 pm : link
One of the most popular Giants O-linemen in recent memory, simply for not sucking as terribly as the guy he replaced.

Great point. If we don't sign a "big-name" UFA like RT D. Williams (they ONLY guy I could live with over-payng, perhaps....) we should get a #3 for the loss of Lance Collins.
Gotta stick with DGs plans
TMS : 3/12/2019 5:58 pm : link
but thought he was a keeper. We will see. Keeping the faith
Seems like some of us are getting too hung up on this projected
TMS : 3/12/2019 6:05 pm : link
comp pick for LC. So we get a 4th instead of a third, not a big deal. lighten up. DG and Abrams know what they are doing. Going to be a fun year. MO.
served his purpose here

no longer needed. thanks and good luck

Wait sorry why exactly does Abrams know what hes doing?
NoGainDayne : 3/12/2019 7:52 pm : link
He was part of the team that got us into the toilet here.

Im really not sure why some people are so insistent in believing we are in good hands.
But with all the cap room freed up by Odell trade
Vanzetti : 3/12/2019 8:59 pm : link
Isnt it likely Giants will sign other free agents and negate the Collins comp pick?

DG is not BB. He cant strstegize comp picks like the Patriots do. He is playing checkers not chess. He is going to sign guys who he wants without any consideration of how it impacts comp picks
