Trying to look at the bright side of this OBJ trade here but I believe there were a few games wherr the offense still did pretty well.
I understand the loss of a guy like OBJ and we quite don't have a true #1 to replace him. But the offense with an improved OL and the 2 way threat of Saquon combined with Engram and Shepard can still be an above average to good offense. Yes, With Odell and an improved OL we could have been one of the top offenses in the entire NFL but we can still be pretty good (and that isnt factoring in if we get someone to play WR for us that can be a #1 guy).
DG has been purging guys with character issues quite aggressively off this team and he did it in Carolina too. There was constant smoke while this is a surprise it isnt considering Gettlemans history.
While this stings lets wait to see what fruit this bears in making us a more complete team. We won a SuperBowl the uear after we lost Tiki and won one the year after we traded Shockey. Not saying that will happen but team chemistry in Football is important too.
As amazing and generational as obj was, bottom line is we didn't win with him. One playoff game and he stunk in it.
Do we want to win or just be entertained on Sundays?
For all the greatness weve pretty much sucked for years. The year we were 11-5 it was on the strength of the defense and he laid a huge egg in the biggest game of his career in GB , partying a few days prior to the game. And it obviously carried over.

this and constantly overlooked. More hype and less on production.
I dont look at the record . I look at the points scored provided they werent scored in garbage time. 3 of those games we scored enough to win with pretty much an average performance on defense.
Quote:
40 points, 0 points, 27 points and 35 points and 1-3. So 25.5ppg w/o him and 1-3. With him, 4-8 and 22.25 ppg. Winning percentage, identical, points per game, 3 more.

We played pretty well on offense w/o him save the Titans game, it's not w/o merit to look at that and weigh against our recent games.
Barkley impacts the game more than Odell. We are becoming a more run team now with Bark and Play action off of that. The formula worked pretty well without Beckham when our OL just elevated to passable status. Our OL with Zietler and a 2nd year Hernandez should be much better than that this year.
LOL
There is not much separation between the top 5 WR's going into the draft. I think we could grab Butler from ISU (a Plax clone) in the 2nd rd

and we did play better without him. A lot of cap space created in 2020. I wonder if they go WR at 6.

I like Butler alot actually
Bradys receivers have rarely been extraordinary ditto with Brees until last couple seasons.
