Hakeem Butler one of my favorite WRs in the draft

Pan-handler : 3/12/2019 9:43 pm
TALENT BOARD ROUND 1.38
Hakeem shows me on film a burning desire to dominate. You can see it in his play on the field, in way he blocks and the way he goes after the ball in the air. He is raw and his route running is inconsistent and lacks polish. He reminds me a lot of Terrell Owens when he came out and I believe, after some adjusting to the next level that Hakeem will become a franchise receiver like Terrell was but without the ON FIELD baggage that seem to follow Owens around from team to team. Out of all these receivers in this draft Hakeem has the biggest upside and that’s saying a lot because there are some very good, big, strong and fast one’s as we all have seen in the combine workouts. If Hakeem keeps his head on straight and doesn’t get it stuck up his buttocks and works hard, he will be the best and become a franchise receiver for the team that selects him. I’m betting he will.

Is this a guy we take top of the 2nd round?

6 Montez Sweat / Haskins
17 Andre Dillard (if he drops) , Dalton Risner Devin Bush
37 Hakeem Butler / Jaylon Ferguson

He makes some incredible catches, but yes, I wish his hands were most consistent

Hands arent amazing but Im hoping they get better. But that is a flag for sure. Problem is this draft class is not that strong. He is one of the better ones of a pretty weak class. They all have moderate to substantial flags pretty much.
Greg Cosell...

loved him on the Ross Tucker pod cast....acknowledged he had some drops but said he doesn’t think he as bad hands. He was definitely the WR he seemed most high on.

Interesting Cosell is one of the best out there.
While there are some bad drops

He makes some of the most ridiculous catches too. Check this bad boy out...
Hakeem the Dream Butler - ( New Window )
He also has devastating potential as a blocker

Shep and Hakeem downfield blocking for Saquon? Sweet.
If he hasn't figured out how to consistently catch a ball at this

stage I not holding my breath on him being sure handed.

I watched Butler all year. He's about as close to Plax as one could want. He even took over games this last season like Plax did for us.

6'6" 225lbs, 60 catches for 1318 yards, 9 TDs, 22 YPC avg
Runs a sub-4.5 40
83 7/8" wingspan
His speed is extremely deceptive also
montanagiant : 3/12/2019 10:43 pm : link
Due to his height. Looks like he's not moving then blows by defenders. For every drop he had, he more than made up for it with a spectacular catch. And the drops don't happen in clutch time

Tyrell Williams and get me Andy Isabella in round 2 (possibly with a trade up). No thanks on Butler's suspect hands

What did he think about his catching ability. Ive seen a bunch of insane highlight catches but did he have alot of concentration drops?
Can see Gettleman drafting Hakeem Butler
Big_Pete : 3/12/2019 11:01 pm : link
Gettleman does like his bigger WRs, after all he traded up to draft Devin Funchess in 2015.

Butler could add that big physical element we haven't had since Plax

Isabella is a slot guy. We have that in Shep. Let's get some size on the outside.

Yep. It's always stunned me that the club never got Eli some big targets considering the success he had throwing to guys like Plex, Tooms, Boss, Nicks, Ballard etc. I expect DG is going to rectify this oversight....very soon.

He tends to have the drops early in games and they aren't for the most parts the kind of easy catch drops that can be a worry. Then it will be in the 4th qtr and ISU is making a comeback and he literally will make 3 straight great catches in a row.

Also watch that ISU QB Purdy, he might be a steal of the draft in 2 years
