Gentleman may now lose this team. He is the boss of mostly 20-30 year old players. His hard nose style wont work with players anymore. Carolina knew it and that's why he got fired. It's my opinion the locker room wont recover from this. If his employees didnt think he was a moron already they do now. I dont care if you have 300 million to spend players have to want to come here and well I doubt they do..
Does he hold their hands and coddle them?...No. He wins his way. Just Win. Players follow that. It takes time.
Whoever doesn't agree with it can leave.
So what happens when Barkley says he's tired of losing two years from now? Do we trade him too?
Then they’re all complete fucking idiots. Which puts this franchise in an even dire position.
Conversely, while Collins and Beckham (two of the best players on the team) were let go, they still continue to coddle Eli. The 2 rings carry a lot of weight with the organization, but how much weight does it carry for the rest of the roster that weren't there for it. As well as haven't seen Eli lift this team to greater heights.
Getts better show some positive return on these moves quickly or the wheels could fall off before we know it!
Yup, this is a bad look in today’s NFL. The players are becoming more powerful, look what AB did last weekend.

This is something that should not be discounted. He wore out his welcome in Carolina. I can't imagine what some of teammates of Collins and Beckham are thinking.

To me Eli has nothing to do with this move today. He has one year left on his deal and then he is 99% done. The 17 million in cap space they would save by cutting him this year would not have much of an impact on the win loss column for this season.

If Dave’s still here “kicking ass”, he’d spin Barkley off for a trio of day 3 picks.
Steve Smith trashes him every chance he can get
They won the super bowl a month ago.
Gone? They have OBJ what he wanted. Every player should be so lucky.

Josh Norman, too.

but teamwise, there’s usually a different, perhaps much different, dynamic. He’s not losing the team. The fact may be just the opposite: Play your ass off or you’re gone..

gave
Not a charity organization? Eli's basically the NFL's version of Make a Wish.

So what? Who gives a fuck what Steve Smith says? He was cut by Gettleman, no? So he has a hard on for him.
Last year I benched my best player and star running back for the last two games of the year. He cursed at another head coach and refuse to apologize.
This is what he said to me in response of the benching..
..dont matter coach, next year I'll play for creek and when I come play you I'll win. Went on to say he didnt need me I needed him (sound familiar)
...this year he will play for Creek...
Probably, instead of wondering how he got paid that much...such a dumb thing to say.

That is a kid headed for trouble. What will he do in HS? You were right to bench him and I'd bet he will be a little shit for the next coach too.
shit...should be genteel.
And there is a problem with that? You think BB or Nick Saban give a crap? I understand the coaches needing to be able to relate to the players, but the GM needs to be separate.
Gentile southerners? FWIW, Gettleman is a Jew for Jesus.
No it isn't. That is BS. Without a certain degree respect, there is anarchy. You do not win with anarchy. That is how the locker room got out of hand with McAdoo. And while Coughlin had to backoff and have his team council, what he got in trouble for was petty nonsense.
Until he talks back to the wrong coach. He'd better be a superstar to get what you believe will happen. And chances are, the rest of the kids catch up physically to him and he isn't the same stud anymore.
But, yeah, we've seen it happen before - the excuses and tolerances as long as the team is winning.

If Barkley starts sitting of games and posting not so cryptic messages about not wanting to play hurt because the Giants "burned bridges" then sure. Ship his ass out.
But its hard to imagine that with Barkley because he's not an asshole.
...personally I have considered stopping coaching.
Players trashed Coughlin when he was here. Remember those polls saying he was the one coach people didn't want to play for?
It'll blow over. As far as losing the locker room, what locker room? DG is blowing it up. I hope he continues to move guys out.
What are they laughing about? The number of Super Bowl trophies in their trophy case?

the spin was that Dave was just too tough for the gentile southerners. No, maybe he's just a complete asshole with a need to constantly remind everyone that he's the boss and the rest of you need to just shut up and get with his program.

..dammit man I'm going to sleep before I start suggesting God know what....

Haha
Trading and cutting talented guys but being very ok with occupying the bulk of cap space with a bottom third player at his position at this stage is how you lose a young locker room.
The giants were so bad last 2 years that the hurdle to be better is literally nothing- but notice where all the leaks will be coming from- not from the bulk of the players with regards to Beckham-
Can be a hardass and keep players too.
