Gettleman and WR's

Breeze_94 : 3/12/2019 10:56 pm
this is a great draft for big bodied receivers, I think it's pretty obvious from his time in CAR that is his preference (Funchess and Benjamin, also he was the director of pro personnel when the Giants signed Plax).

Looking at this list though

1. Metcalf- 6'3
2. Hakeem Butler 6'5
3. AJ Brown 6'2
4. N'Keal Harry 6'4
5. Kelvin Harmon 6'2

plus David Sills at 6'4, Miles Boykin at 6'4, Arcega Whiteside at 6'4, Riley Ridley 6'2

Multiple of the first group will be on the board at 37, probably 1 or 2 of these guys at 95 as well...
Benjamin and Funchess

problem with giant receivers is that they usually need a runway to get up to full speed. Many also have difficulty throttling down quickly, and getting in and out of breaks. They struggle to separate against NFL CBs, and consequently become big possessions receivers at best.

That's not the point, the point is that there is a trend with this years WR class and it matches exactly what Gettleman has drafted in the past. Benjamin a 1st rounder and Funchess a 2nd rounder that he traded up for. Clearly values these types over the smaller, shifty speed guys like OBJ.
Agree with that, Breeze. Also, with this amount of picks

we could take a slot guy as well, grooming him to take over for Shep if it comes to that next year...Andy Isabella anyone?

The point is Gettleman doesn't know a good receiver if it spat him in the face.

I'm a huge fan of Butler- would be a tremendous pick at 37. Also, AJ Brown reminds me of Hakeem Nicks a little bit. Also love N'Keal Harry. Hoping for 1 of those 3 at pick 37.
