Behind the times: Personality Not Allowed on the NYG

OBJ_AllDay : 3/12/2019 11:06 pm
Parcells would have never allowed this. We have a head coach with the personality of a wet blanket and a clueless owner who takes advice from and makes moves based on the Francesa air waves. Good job NYG... disgusting
Didnt Pittsburgh do the same

Two players demanding new massive deals who both have a lot more tread on the tires. We just traded a Jerry Rice talent for pick 17. Not to move up to take a consensus franchise guy like luck or Peyton or Rodgers. Not to mention eating tons of dead $. Trading a year after an extension. Ownership is lost. There is no plan. Get rid of all the players who hate to lose more than anything. Sound strategy

If you think Parcells would have gotten along with Odell then you didn't grow up watching Bill Parcells.
If peeing like a dog in the endzone....
Torrag : 3/12/2019 11:13 pm : link
...and doing ill advised interviews where you emabarass your QB and the franchise that just gave you a legacy contract is 'personality', then no we don't want it on our team.

He would have had some spats with him I’m sure but he would t of quit on HOF talent in his prime... and he didn’t with LT
If we're talking about things Parcells wouldn't have allowed
j_rud : 3/12/2019 11:15 pm : link
we can probably include that Lil Wayne interview

LT wasn't a diva. He was a cokehead.

Remember what Parcells thought of his "female" wide receiver up in New England?

I’ll take Barkley’s personality all day long.
I am the biggest OBJ defender

But if he decided he wouldn’t play the last 4 games if the year, I see that alone as a good reason to move him.

I don’t love the trade, I guess we will see what it brings. I know it won’t bring a player of his caliber but we have some talent on the offense still.

Personality is one thing. Undermining a coach and the QB is not good for culture. That is a big thing with DG and PS.

Culture. Be a professional and not a walking billboard.

we're looking for players who don't exist anymore at least not in large enough numbers to field a team.

In fact you probably never could field a team like that. I read a decent amount of sports history books and the idea that the old timers were all about team and never partied or popped off is just nonsense. Max McGee got drunk the night before the Super Bowl... that's the Packers. Vince Lombardi! And the great Yankees teams of the 1950's...lol Mickey, Whitey and Billy. Real choirboys those fellows. Only difference today is you have the social media so nothing is hidden and we're saturated with it.
'we're looking for players who don't exist anymore'...

They seem to exist in new england. So they can exist here.

Beat me to it.

And in many other superbowl winning teams. You know like the giants ones.
