Because all we have is a slot in Sheppard and some udfa’s. There is not another OBJ in this draft so Tate makes slot of sense. He is a sure handed playmaker. Even if we draft a rookie he still needs vets to throw to.
So Greg, are we in for yet another year of your 100% negativity? Be pissed, etc., but can we at least wait until AFTER the draft and tge balance of FA?

I think we'll do something like bring Latimer back, try to develop Coleman, and spend a day 2 pick on WR.
That will be the worst collection of receivers in the league, and it won 't even be close.
It's reality, Greg. Look at the FA's this year - who do you want to spend money on? The group is terrible.
All we'd be doing is turning around and making a new mistake by paying one of these guys. It would make no sense.
I like Tyrell Williams - do we want to pay him ~10M per year for 3-4 years when we already know we're not going to be winning many games this year (or 2020, for that matter...) ?
It makes more sense to draft someone on Day 2, bring someone like Latimer back, keep Shepard in the slot, and utilize Engram more in the pass game like we were doing later in the season.
from 3 or 4 meaningless games at the end of last season. History has shown that the offense stalls when OBJ has not played.
Greg is right: this will be by far the worst set of wr's in the NFL. Don't count on the draft; the NFL draft is littered with high pick busts at wideout and it usually takes a year or two for even the good ones to get their legs under them. OBJ was very unusual to be so productive right out of the gate.

The Eagles are also going to get another 3rd round comp pick for him when he ultimately signs elsewhere.
Another really smart move by them... unfortunately.

Pretty sullen person in reality.

I see a guy in the draft big bodied WR like DG gravitates to like Hakeem Butler.
Sorely lacking that for years.

Britt, our problem has been small AND slow.
