Can you forfeit a psl?

bhill410 : 3/13/2019 7:53 am
My seats are currently in one of the worst sections and we have been mulling upgrading anyway. We randomly got the invoice yesterday and after the obj trade both my wife and me independently suggested just walking away as we have had enough. PSLs in my section go for nothing on secondary market and there is minimal movement (especially after trades like yesterday) so I would doubt I would sell it for anything prior to having to pay for the tickets.

We both agreed to give it a week and see if our emotions settle down. But assuming we are in a similar spot thought wise can i just hand this back to giants? Or am I obligated to actually purchase the tickets since I am the psl owner?

I just don't understand why you would do that, over a single player.
go ahead

you'll be guaranteeing a playoff run

This is not the NBA where one player can make or break a franchise.
I encourage people to keep

No laughing matter. Just put my house on the market and moving to Cleveland.
The Giants will be happy to take back your psl

No issues.....they have a list if buyers and will resell them tomorrow
So stupid...
EricJ : 3/13/2019 8:11 am : link
yes you can forfeit them. Just done pay your ticket invoice and you wont have them anymore.
I don't believe you're under any obligation to keep buying tickets

You can turn the PSL back to the Giants and be done with it.

I don't see the point of having PSLs for poor or even mediocre seats. Nowadays you can the seats you want for the games you want on the secondary market and you aren't forced to buy tickets to exhibition games for the privilege.
Yes. You can just give them up
Justlurking : 3/13/2019 8:23 am : link
You just cut your losses.
You should sell them
BigBlueDownTheShore : 3/13/2019 8:37 am : link
and get some money back.
Best fucking decision I ever made not buying them

The boat I bought instead is all mine, and I'm not subject to the Giants inability to manage their way to a halfway decent record. At least when I'm not catching fish I don't have someone else to blame for it.

And to think, it was the last game at Giants Stadium that sealed it for me, when TC and Eli got outplayed by Carolina's backup QB in a game that they needed to make the playoffs. The writing was on the wall that things weren't as stable as they looked, SB notwithstanding.

Seriously. “My wife and I agreed to wait a week and see how we feel?”

Good grief.
what section are you in?

....

I like buying low...lol....but seriously, where do you seat?
Shitty seats. Shitty product. And you have to buy
LauderdaleMatty : 3/13/2019 9:20 am : link
the two preseason games? I’d suggest he’s stupid to keep buying tickets period aftet thebway the last 6 seasons have gon. And those of you crapping on him would you drop the stupid amount of cash shitty tickets cost these days. You can scalp tickets for a couple games a year much cheaper andget better seats if you really want to see a game live than having to buy all 10 games.

Sounds pretty sane to me. The OBJ thing seems to be the last straw. The morons are the ones who keep buying tickets while the Mara and Tisch families fuck them over year after year. People are always so cavalier about spending someone else’s money.

We are corner end zone

As I mentioned we were debating just putting them all up for sale and trying to upgrade to less miserable seats. That said I am not sure I am in the mood to make a more considerable investment in a team that will likely be rocky for a couple years. All that leaves me with crappy seats in section 331 with a team that is going to suck. I don’t think I can sell the actual psl prior to invoice being due. Even if I did they are going for like 250 on secondary market which appears to be pretty stagnant.

Be curious if you guys saying it’s dumb are season ticket holders

Not true, if you go to psl site you have a pretty large choice of seats.

The waiting list is long long gone
Yea NO one is buying PSLs
bhill410 : 3/13/2019 9:28 am : link
Right now
I don't know why anyone would buy a PSL
RobCrossRiver56 : 3/13/2019 9:59 am : link
I pick 2 or 3 games a year, contact the ticket broker, pay 15-20% over face value and Bamm, I'm sitting field level between the 20's. Ok, so I won't have rights to playoff tickets but that hasn't been a problem for a while.

These are $1000 face value PSLs?

Might not be a bad idea to get $250 for them and cut your losses.

If you are thinking of upgrading, call the Giants. They will likely credit you the $1000 towards better PSLs and you wont pay all the fees involved with selling.

You're right why count the SB win in 2011...

Totally irrelevant...

Not irrelevant - but basically running on the fumes of earlier decisions. The cracks were already apparent by that point, although it wasn't until several seasons later that they proved to be fatal to the Giants playoff chances.
I walked away
noro9 : 3/13/2019 8:37 pm : link
From similar seats a few years ago after having season tickets for over 30 years. I haven't regretted it once.
It’s a tough call but essentially we need to decide by Friday
bhill410 : 3/13/2019 9:07 pm : link
Whether I feel like going through hassle of trying to sell tickets on the secondary market or to watch a shitty team in shitty seats.
Do you actually go to every game?
Gary from The East End : Admin : 3/14/2019 12:16 am : link
Realistically, I don't see the value proposition in season tickets if you don't have good seats.

Tickets are available for every game on the secondary market and you're not obligated to buy tickets to pre-season games.
