this is what loser teams do. Hitch their wagon to an Running Back, when its a passing league and you can clearly win with a full powered offense.
We were 1 piece away from having a great offense. Now we are way behind.
I don’t love this trade but let’s see how it plays out. It seems like the Giants are almost building a team similar to Dallas:
- fortify the Online (Dallas did this through the draft but we have too many holes for that luxury)
- draft stud RB
- get rid of a sometimes problematic WR
- draft some young talent on D (I’m sure we’ll do a bit of that this year)
- draft a QB of the future??? Who knows when this comes.
Plus we’ll have 80-100m to spend next year
I saw about 50 comments last night that we traded our best offensive player, and the best player on the team. We didn't, Saquon Barkley is our best player. If you want some statistics behind this Beckham's best season accounted for 1450 yards and 13 touchdowns, coming in behind Saquon's 2000 and 15 from this year.
And while I believe Beckham was villainized by the media, Saquon is the ultimate character guy, dare I say the Giants version of Derek Jeter?
That Barkley is happy that the only other player to take attention away from him is gone, I don't know what to tell you.
He will be up against 8-9 man boxes all year and will be run into the ground by november.
Did you watch last year? OBJ missed 4 games. Barkely didn’t miss a beat. Now he has a better oline. Would be foolish to think his production doesn’t get even better.

This is way the plan seem to be ... Also the rebuild did not really take a hit and with the pick being flipped back actually we are on a nice pace.
OL is almost fixed ... get a RT (should be able to do that today)
Get a WR ((Golden Tate) ... should not be that expensive) and draft a WR
Get some young defenders (front 7) in the draft and some stop gaps in FA
If we step back and look big picture ... yes the O took a hit but the OVERALL team should improve. Also the cap will be nice in 2020 and we'll have picks to boot and maybe 1 or 2 extra ones.

+1
Barkley will get hurt this year. They should just shelf him

We are all in on Saquon.
Neither is the guy who actually has two SB MVPs.
Because if he was, why were they paying millions for leadership from Stewart to allegedly "clean up" a bad locker room?
