Seems to me he's a vital part of the trade.
Does he replace Collins? Are they both the SS type safeties?
Yesterday we signed Bethea, who from what I could get is more of a free saftey. So now the safety combo is Peppers and Bethea?
It seems We saved a lot of cap room. Not giving into Collins' demand (based on what he got from the skins) and I think Peppers is still on his rookie contract, right?

Yes, he's good. Not as good a tackler as Collins, but better in coverage. Plus, he's a good blitzer.
He is good, extremely versatile and getting better.
How good is Peppers? - ( New Window )
Punt returner and SS.
I also suspect Bettcher will like putting him in different positions
Thanks Clams.. didn't go back far enough to see this thread.
I'm not going to delete mine, because I think it's relevant to the discussions going forward and the trade.
Possibly could solve our covering the TE problem we've had here forever!?
He could be really good, or not. Too early to tell.
Not gonna make amazing flash plays???? Seriously??? This is a guy who can literally play all over the field and even on both sides of the ball in college.
He was light years better in coverage than Collins last year.

big effort guy. Not gonna make amazing flash plays, but he's going to be very solid and probably only getting better. He came into the league very young
Agreed, odd assessment. He is a dynamic returner, not sure you have seen him in College.

He was a #1 pick. So we really got 2 number 1's
Not where we wanted but overall value is good and fits a need without drafting a player that we HOPE is good from college
He was fifth in Heisman voting too so no slouch
Local guy who went to Don Bosco prep
from what i have read he played well second half of the season for the browns

He went to Paramus Catholic.

He'll certainly be able to do a better job than Collins on tight ends which has been a chronic problem for the Giants defense.
That is what they got. Peppers was a first round pick who the Giants supposedly were very high on.
If we end up with Peppers and, with the two picks, solid edge rusher and OL picks, it may all be worth it.

Agree.
Who's calling him Ed Reed?
Ascending player and Im assuming strong character guy?
He should have no trouble matching Collins' production the last 2 years then!
Gregg Williams runs a much different scheme and does not use his S's like Bettcher does.
If you look at Jabrill's profile - he played 16 different positions at Michigan. That is exactly the kind of player Bettcher wants. He's all about disguising and having everyone on the field capable of doing anything at any time.

Yeah! I remember him at Michigan now that you bring up the Heisman! He was pretty good it's not often a Defensive player gets Heisman consideration.

Both correct. Started at Don Bosco, finished at Paramus Catholic.
