The only question is what pick they use to grab him. They are not going to use the 6th pick, but the 17th pick wouldn't be a remote thrower for me. Jones checks a lot of boxes for me, not the least of which is that he is accurate. He throws a mean fade and hits a lot of his wide receivers in stride. Big kid that ran a 4.75 at the combine.
Throw in the Cutcliffe connection and, for me, it's pretty much a done deal. Again, the only question is where.

He does not have "as good a chance" as the top guys coming out in upcoming drafts and that's the point. You take him 1st round you are married to him for the next few seasons. This is unlike any other position on the field. This isn't taking a DE high, or taking a WR high. This is "your guy" for at least the next 2-3 seasons. For Jones to be there at 17 suggests he's not viewed as an elite level QB prospect. It would mean
The Cardinals, Raiders, Giants (at 6), Bucs, Broncos, Dolphins and Redskins all passed on him. I'd go as far as to say if you really think he's a potential franchise QB then taking him at 6 is 100% fine (I wouldn't do it, just saying if you really feel he is), whereas thinking he's "he could be decent" makes even less sense at 17.
Hopefully it doesn't happen. And if it does, pray that Jones proves everyone wrong.
