Would you retire or come back this season? If so, why?
I'm sure making 20M is great but I'm sure Manning isn't hurting for money.
-Stats? Sure he will gain another 4000 yards or so... But he will also go further below 500 overall.
What is Eli's motivation for playing this year? After OBJ trade... It's not about winning (this year).
Is it just the desire for competition and delusion of going out on top?
Eli has made it clear in years past that he has no desire to be a mentor. He wants to start. No matter what.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall listening to Eli and his camp discuss this upcoming season.
I think the consensus is that the FO will keep Eli this year... But if you are Manning.... Why would you want to?
He's probably thinking the OL is going to be infinitely better, SB will even be better, and overall the offense could be a ton more efficient.
I really think people are overlooking the fact that when you have a good OL, it opens the playbook up dramatically and efficiently.
I'm sure that's a big factor.
He may be cut but the Giants don’t want to do that.
A restructure of his current contract will absolutely happen.

A restructure is a terrible idea. We don't want Manning on the books next year. A restructure gives us dead cap money for the 2020 season.
Probably saw some glimmers of hope EOY last season that they don't need OBJ.
OL just got better & Safeties got upgraded. Find a WR now
Hope we get a high 2020 pick (1st/2nd rd) for Jackrabbit when they trade him (he's gotta be next right? I really don't want to trade him, but the scorched earth plan is unfolding.
+1. If he won't retire, cut him.
Eli is a shell of his former self and is not worth nearly the money he is getting paid
When Giants finally wake up and release Eli -- No-one wants to sign Eli Manning
he will retire
The guy deserves a chance to play behind an offensive line that isn't crap. This is a guy that was sacked over 40 times last year. That would have killed Brady.
I'm pretty sure he sees the writing on the wall and anyone who has watched Eli throughout his career should know that even if his priority isn't mentoring, he's still going to be about the best mentor a young QB could ask for.
He's a team guy; a good human being.
I personally, hope that he shows that with a decent OL (which they finally started to resemble at the end of last year after about 8 years of sucking) and with Engram, Barkley and maybe a high draft pick WR/TE, he's still a good QB. I would love for them to defy odds and go to the playoffs, maybe even win a round. Call me crazy.

We've seen Brady when he is under major pressure. Not great. The Giants OL the last few years has made opposing defenses look like SB defenses, on a weekly basis.
The bigger and more immediate question is do the Giants keep him. But this is all common knowledge.
