If we come out of last yr's draft with Saquon AND Rosen and have 2 first rounders this yr (which should both be used on the defense) AND have a ton of cap space starting next offseason then we may be on to something.

then I will be very confused. Gettleman has said that he doesn't want to be in "QB Hell". Trading Beckham and then turning around and making a couple of big FA acquisitions basically puts the Giants in position to miss out on the QB's in 2020.

Why not try out the offense with him and Odell. Still have the 6th pick for defense. Obviously they could feel regardless of the QB we want Odell gone.

Yes, but around here that late 3rd is really a 4th unless of course you're Dallas/Philly or something in that an early 4th is really a late 3rd.

If they don't like him to be the QB, it isn't logical to get him no matter how cheaply he'll come.

He's been talking about Rosen all offseason.

He and Nick have a great podcast during the season that breaks down plays and players called Big Blue Banter. But he's just a dude on Twitter like anyone else here, posting his opinion. Nothing more.

He's done it in the past and then tried to spin it off as "sources tell me".

I would trade #37 or even #17 for Rosen, but I don't think the Giants will. I think the most likely scenario is that they build the team with the draft this year and FA next year, and then trade up for a QB next year.

I agree with all of this. I would do it but dont think the Giants will.

As I recall, the knock was his durability, and now I�m reading his work ethic isn�t the best.

Papa, Weis, etc... yesterday.

Only because it's a low risk move to test drive a guy Sy is still high on for a couple years. If it works out, great, we have a franchise guy. If it doesn't, great, we've probably lost a lot of games and we're in better position to nab a top guy in 2021 (Lawrence).

The alternatives are:

* Draft a QB in 2019. However the top guys might not be ranked higher than Rosen if they were in the same draft. I hate the opportunity cost of committing to Haskins or Lock for 3 years and they don't pan out. We'd be passing on some higher ceiling prospects in exchange for hope in the present.

* Continue to play Eli until a better QB is available in the draft. I can only see this if Gettleman likes the 2020 QBs a whole lot. I can't see management and the fan base putting up with 2 years of Eli and few wins before the regime is changed again. In other words it's unlikely Eli bridges the gap between now and 2021+.

I've been saying it.....it makes sense.

Giants aren't going to trade for Rosen. It's more likely that if the team likes Haskins they'll package #6 and #17 (and possibly a lower round pick) and send it to SF for the #2 pick.
