Not sure what to think of this:
A lot of rumblings the #Giants are planning something big today as part 2 of the OBJ trade. Let's just hope that doesn't mean overpaying for two free agents. No point in spending now. The only "big" thing that makes any sense is trading No. 37 overall for Josh Rosen. #GiantsPride

I agree with you....but then again...I also thought the OBJ trade rumors were rubbish
why not Eric? Too logical for this regime?
👍👍🏿
this made me chuckle
Yes, but around here that late 3rd is really a 4th unless of course you're Dallas/Philly or something in that an early 4th is really a late 3rd.
I dont either but I hope so.
If they don't like him to be the QB, it isn't logical to get him no matter how cheaply he'll come.
Other than Charley Casserly, who has reported that? As someone who has been touting a Rosen trade for a while now, I truly would like to know, not a sarcastic question.
He and Nick have a great podcast during the season that breaks down plays and players called Big Blue Banter. But he's just a dude on Twitter like anyone else here, posting his opinion. Nothing more.
This has been disputed by his teammates and people other than Charley Casserly.
Could be wrong but dont see the 'character' or culture fit . Unless they see him differently than what has been portrayed.
I would trade #37 or even #17 for Rosen, but I don't think the Giants will. I think the most likely scenario is that they build the team with the draft this year and FA next year, and then trade up for a QB next year.

I agree with all of this. I would do it but dont think the Giants will.
So why do I want him?
So why do I want him?
The only person that I have heard question his work ethic is Charley Casserly and his opinion means less than nothing to me.
Doesn't he already have one.

Because the knocks on Rosen (attitude, how important is the game to him, entitled) have followed him into the pros.

Papa, Weis, etc... yesterday.
The alternatives are:
* Draft a QB in 2019. However the top guys might not be ranked higher than Rosen if they were in the same draft. I hate the opportunity cost of committing to Haskins or Lock for 3 years and they don't pan out. We'd be passing on some higher ceiling prospects in exchange for hope in the present.
* Continue to play Eli until a better QB is available in the draft. I can only see this if Gettleman likes the 2020 QBs a whole lot. I can't see management and the fan base putting up with 2 years of Eli and few wins before the regime is changed again. In other words it's unlikely Eli bridges the gap between now and 2021+.

Both Papa and Charlie Weis among others at Sirius have intimated the same thing.
I did see that at the time but forgot amongst all the other happenings. thanks.
They are delusional, so it appears the former. At this point they should just extend Eli until he is 45.
As did JonC. The two guys with inside information have said that Rosen is definitely not happening. It's time to accept that and move on.
What was his take on OBJ being traded before the actual trade?

truly believe in Josh Rosen and made this Odell trade with this either already negotiated or planned then I may change my entire tune about DG today. If we come out of last yr's draft with Saquon AND Rosen and have 2 first rounders this yr (which should both be used on the defense) AND have a ton of cap space starting next offseason then we may be on to something.

I've been saying it.....it makes sense.
